What is the Socio-Economic benefit of public fountain in a society in Nigeria?

Government officials are supposed to fix the problems or issues preventing the citizens from economic and social improvement. The road or lights or fountain is NOT going to improve the lot of anyone living in that axis.

The only thing government officials are interested in is projects that construction contracts are awarded. How will the fountain be supplied with water? How will the pump be powered or the lights?

In 6 months, that project will be done and abandoned with no impact on the community it was situated.

If the project pains you, use this. Good roads are economic growth enablers, go figure

Quality projects of governor udom

If it's for roads, I give it to Akwa Ibom. I'm not sure there's any other state in Nigeria that has better roads than Akwa Ibom.

but somebody posted a picture of new roads constructed in a very remote part of Rural Akwa lbom State and l didn't see even one mud nor thatch house in all the pictures.

These our neighbors are something else,
any time they see any good thing coming from other parts of the country, they will spew trash.

This project is a complete Urban Renewal of some parts of Eket Urban,
which include remodeling of certain roundabouts, expansion and dualizing of some major roads,
fixing of some Streets,
Erosion and flood control projects(under ground drainage systems),
construction of a 600-seater Amphitheater,
fixing of street lights and beautification, etc.

I have been to that state twice,they are always lucky with governors, since d time of akpabio, it has been massive projects till today's, if not because that places was not business hub,I could have relocate there....just only for tourist.

The more the hate Akwa Ibom the more God is blessing us with rulers who eat and remember to put some things on ground.

All the 36 States and FG since 1999 are guilty of the points I made.

Lagos State imposed BRT lanes and took over 33% of some roads in the State. Did it improve traffic and caused socio economic growth we can measure today?

Akpabio built a stadium some years back in Uyo. What has been the socio economic impact of that stadium on the people that live in a 10km radius of the project?

Nigerian government (Fed, State and LG) need to have a long term plan to implement projects with results.

Every year we commission roads and renovate classrooms and import medical equipment.

Has there been any improvement in transportation, education or healthcare for members of the public across the 36 States?
