On issues bothering the removal of fuel subsidy, after the new President of Nigeria Bola Tinubu made it clear in his inaugural speech, that fuel subsidy has been removed because it wasn't included in the 2023 budget. Nigerians woke up to another era of fuel scarcity, where petrol stations started hoarding fuel while others were selling at a high cost

Rotus Odiri and Rufai Oseni of Arise TV have debated intensively on the effect the removal of subsidy is going to have on the masses. Rotus was able to make Rufai see the reasons, why the subsidy has to go immediately.

Corruption is real and should be targeted before petrol subsidy is considered for removal. If corruption is tamed, petrol consumption can even go down to as low as 15 million litres a day.

Now that it has been done by another person, they are all claiming analyst, if the table has turned and this was Obi's decision creating a backlash.

Why can't they just delay the remover till July when Dangote will start refining?

Because they don't want to bring the price down from #185.
They prefer to bring it down from #500 and put it somewhere around #300

Rotus was far from reality. I loved the way Rufai told him that they might not feel the impact of the subsidy removal because they can afford to buy fuel, but how would the ordinary Nigerians on the street feel?

The Rotus guy was clearly objective. He should be teaching that other fellow home lessons every evening to help his sanity.

Rufai is intellectually vacuous.

Rufai just dey blab, the other guy understand the issue at hand than Rufai. He just need to play the devil's advocate.

This interview shows this guy is not as intelligent as I heard some people hype him, or maybe he is just being mischievous.

Maybe his hatred for Tinubu is not making him reason appropriately but with this debate, I'm disappointed in him.

The main problem is that there is no provision for it in the budget from June.

It's just like a kind of trap set up for the incoming administration. If Tinubu doesn't announce the removal now, where will he get the money to pay for that of July, the money allocated for subsidy in the budget ends in June.

Rufai seem not to know much about econometrics but he also made some good points. He suppose don learn 1 or 2 from the other guy..

1) He didn't know anything about economics and it was glaring
