Lol, the 4runner is a solid car no doubt, but you were asking about fuel consumption. The v8 will need 4 to 5 more liters of fuel for every 100km previously covered by your Pathfinder. If that won't break the bank for you, then go for it.

So what is the alternative can i change the engine ....maybe am in love with the body built of the car ...if i need to change the engine wot wud it costI MUST CONFESS THAT I HAD ALREADY PAID FULLY AND COLLECTED THE CAR B4 COMING ONLINE.Which engine can i swap it for?

No, no, don't do that. You would be setting yourself up for a catastrophe. Since you've paid for it already, then use it for a while and observe in real time how it's economy fares compared to your Pathfinder. If it's something you can put up with for the gain of raw power on the wheels, then keep it. Else sell it and get the V6 which should offer slightly better economy. But don't attempt to change that engine from the stock. The engines on the 4runner are a workhorse, so they should serve you well.

Please oo how do i curb this fuel consumption ...i bought 20k fuel today ......drove for less than 30km to and fro and my fuel is already halved.Please Jagaban shld reverse this subsidy removal oo....that 20k should have gotted me over 100litres of fuel.This is just crazy i dont think i can cope.

Maybe this fuel thing is because of this new fuel price regime.20k fuel i bought last week would have given be 99litres instead of 40litres that i got. I will get used to it. BUT HONESTLY THE CAR IS BEAUTIFUL

yes Toyota 4runner v6 engine is one of the most expensive engine of Toyota that I know because it's the same in 4runner,fortuner, hilux, fj cruiser,Landcruiser gxr v6, prado v6, tacoma and some other vehicles but this your own wey be v8 would be cheaper compared to the v6 where a corolla would consume full tank from lagos to abia tower yours would use its full tank to onitsha and you will have to top up patapata e carry you reach owerri that's if the fuel line as well as catalyst is top notch but your full tank would be more than twice more expensive than the corolla but the advantages supercede the fuel that's if money dey ooooooo

The main issue i know is.. a lot of drivers prefer the V6 to the V8 based on reliability.. the V6 will last longer and give lesser issues.. the V8 comes with a timing belt... That requires changing btw 20-40K Miles depending on how you drive generally... But most drivers i spoke to then said the belt does cut easily...and the V6 happens to be lighter.. made the car lighter despite having lesser hp.. it actually made acceleration better in the V6....
