Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has picked a female lawyer, Barr. Nnedinma Ekomaru, as his running mate for the 2023 governorship election in the State.

Uzodimma had submitted the name of Engr. Ralph Nwosu, the Commissioner for Works as the placeholder, which left room for lobbying and speculations for the slot.

An aide of the Governor, who pleaded anonymity told LEADERSHIP that Barr. Ekomaru’s name has been formally submitted to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja as Uzodimma’s running mate.

Ekomaru is married to a senior lawyer, Chief Chukwuma Ekomaru, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

She hails from Umunoha community in Mbaitoli local government area of the State and has practiced for over 20 years as a lawyer.

Women groups had called on Uzodimma to pick a woman as his running mate.

Mrs Ekomaru, until now, was not considered a politician until her husband, Chief Chukwuma attempted to govern the state under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but didn’t win the primary election.

Yes o! 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿😀. I am so delighted. I have watered the ground for Ndimo women to push for equity in all endeavours. They should wake up and run with this development. I expect more women to pick up forms for local government chairmanship election. That's if Hope is serious with conducting local government election🤷🏿‍♀️. O setiela!😅

He has been PDP/anti-Sam Daddy through and through, unless he jumped ship recently.

I raised that adeleke issue because of wole because if adeleke actually endorsed him,then wole would be involved which means Abbas kalu is a goal,left with akpabio.look at how things can change.abbas that was meeting difficulties is now on a landslide.again,you might not like tinubu but the guy is a master politician versed in the art of diplomacy and negotiations.he gets what he wants by negotiations and talk not force.the problem now is how to settle chinda/wike group.

People fault Abbas because of his oga, El-Rufai.

Abbas has the highest number of sponsored bills in the 8th/9th Assembly combined. He neither has any EFCC case nor accused of embezzling funds through any Ministry.

Good,the guy has been loyal since 2011.he was denied SP in 2015 and chair in 2019 and even senate yet still delivered.he seems capable.benue plateau is settled...I feel for akume
