Hi everyone,

Please, my brother did the capturing for his passport but is yet collect due to the delay in issuing passport these days. The problem is there was a mistake in the date of birth. Instead of 2001, what was registered was 2000. Please how can this be corrected before the passport is printed out. Cos, am hearing that after capturing no changes can be made again. Please what's d solution

I think that correction can only be done in Abuja. are you sure the passport is not produced?

yes is a big effect go and correct it now before is too late i have this problem at the moment i have a new Nigerian passport with my real date of birth and i have my birth certificate with me still the germany consular want more proof
and to get this proof it take 3 to 4 months and a payment of 410Eur.

Yes, i have used it to travel to other countries before. The age difference is a year, for example to change year 1983 to year 1982.
Day and month remain the same.

Please, I have similar issue. I did my passport in 2008 but never used it. It has expired since 2013. I just realized recently that it has a four year difference in my date of birth which makes the DOB captured on my passport incorrect. Should I apply for a new one, hoping the data captured in 2008 will not pop up the previous information?

It will pop up... you'll have to do change of data in Abuja

It ought to be Osogbo but we mistakenly put Ibadan. Can it cause any issue later?

They can correct it before they produce it, but once they produce it you must go to Abuja

So the man that helped us with the application said we ought to have corrected it on the day of capturing. He added that since they have submitted, there is nothing that can't be done unless we go to Abuja after it's out.

Tho he added that it might not really matter much that it's date of birth and Local Govt of Origin that really matter.
