The theory that Atiku would have appealed to the majority North though tangible, was watered down by 2 major reasons;

1- A Nothern incumbent (Buhari) supporting B.A.T

2- The Emergence of a particular Kwankwaso who appealed to the Northern Zone with the highest number of registered voters according to data.

This two factors Basically inhibited a significant Atiku/PDP Northern sweep.

Part 2.
The curious case of western Nigerias Demographics

Now back to Demographics of the Western region of Nigeria, over 65% are Christians and about 31% are Muslims according to data gathered from previous surveys(1). So based on that statistic, it was a significant factor to buttress Peter Obi's votes from the West- asides the fact that the man spewed out pure intellect during his interviews, which also appealed to the young and educated Demographic of the west.

In conclusion I understand your bias & your agression, so it's nothing personal... well maybe because I am from the North.

Another reason why atiku didn't win the north is the Muslim Muslim ticket plus his own unpopularity and lack of footsoldiers like tinubu and apc.kwankwaso played no role outside kano.he wasn't a factor...
