Please I would appreciate if someone can help me to understand what vfs meant by "kindly know that your passport has been counter delivered" I just chatted them up a few minutes ago, to understand what they meant by counter-delivered, they said it has been colleted or dispatched but whenever she call UPS, they will say it has not been released to them. My wife has been down for almost two weeks now because of this and she paid Two Way service with UPS courier. Travelling to Abuja from Asaba is quite challeging. Please I will appreciate your suggestion what else to do.

And that takes me to my question, how's now that a crime to look for work in Canada as a visitor if the law doesn't forbid it ?

Also, is a conference visa different from a visitor's visa? To me there are the same and. If they're the same, can someone that came on conference visa also look for a valid job in Canada and he or she won't be flagging any law ?

I wouldn't want to abuse any country's immigration laws. Please help do justice to my questions bikonu

I think you can only work when you get a job with LMIA sponsorship while in Canada and you have you have gotten your work permit. You can't work with only the visitor's visa

That passport can never be renewed, you can only do that only if you claim 'loss passport'.

Meanwhile you still got 2 yrs to expiry on that passport, why can you send that in and get your 2yrs visa, isn't that enough?

You can definitely apply for work permit in Canada with visit/conference/tourist visa but you need to get hired by a company willing to get you LMIA.
You have to be exceptional

My old passport will expire on 1 Jan 2024. And I was I ask to submit my passport.
Wat I did, I didn't declear it missing, declearing your passport missing is not that save sha 😏according to wat I heard. Someone gave me contact which I used to travel to Sokoto where I renew it ---wait and take--- I got it that same day. at the sum of 60k. But the journey no be here. I slept on the road for 2days. But it worth it. Lagos and Abuja said they can't renew my passport that have 1+, unless less than 6month but I needed a new passport so I took the risk😊😊

You don't need it. You will be required to upload the Visa though.

I booked appointment with vfs abuja (but did biometric in lagos) and they are giving me 20th of this month and there is no account number to pay the transmission fee. Also the date they gave me is too far. Don't know what to do. Can I just submit in person at Lagos . Is it allowed.

Yes you can do a new passport.. It's called waiver.. They will wave the years and issue you a new one.. Hubby just did his yesterday ago and will be collecting his passport next week Wednesday.

Start your application.. Provide all the documents you can get and wait your decision

Most importantly, more about your job and acc statement. Then with your letter of invite.

Attimes it's better to get that 5years or 10years.. And forget about applying again. Imo sha!

Normally conference means you are not staying more than a week sef.. But many people have used the means to remain in canada.

Also you can remain in canada on a conference note.. Since you are being issued same visit visa.

Only at the port of entry is the conference defined and noted. But just be careful how you handle that part.

You can work with the visit visa only when a company hire you and agree to give you the lmia with your offer letter.

With this doc from your employer, you can switch from visit visa to work visa.

You can as well get jobs without a work permit, but it will only delay you getting the ones that can give you work permit.

So it's better to hustle for jobs that are willing to offer you lmia, so you can get a work permit.

Depends how hasty you want it.. Abuja is faster.

But if you are in Lagos.. Why not just submit in Lagos and wait for the 2 weeks max.
