sonature1: Do you know how long that border is? Do you know that at points along the border, same families live on both sides of the border. Do you also know that most borders are porous? Including the US. Having said all this I will agree with you that NCS personnel are fantastically corrupt. However, apart from endemic corruption there are terrain and sociological factors at play. 2 Likes |

In USA a gallon of fuel of 4 liters is 2$ plus which is less than 2000 naira, while thesame 4 liters in Nigeria is over 2000 naira and ignorants fools continue to cheer this collective punishment of the masses in their efforts to cover the corruption among the crooks that have for long impoverished this big for nothing useless country. Dangote's refinery will start production in July and to show how they delight in the suffering of ordinary Nigerians, they removed subsidy ahead of that. Serpentine seeds of Cain with evil hearts that's what they are. |

TemplarLandry: You are a big psycophant. When it comes to safeguarding Aso rock all the latest technologies are deployed but when it comes to safeguarding our fuel something as simple as car tracker that can be attached to each tanker to track fuel loaded from the depot becomes complex algebra and bootlickers like you will be applauding mediocrity in government. The same ass kissers like you will keep applauding the ineptitude of government to demand improved security at our borders instead of asking pertinent questions. People are paid salaries every month to safeguard our borders and check smuggling yet smuggling is so bad that it's a national issue yet people like you prefer to throw the baby out with the bath water and applaud another death blow to the common man. Let's see how Nigerians will cope with 200% increase not just in transport but food prices also. Yeye dey smell. |

sonature1: Even if the size is the size of the world, does that mean their should be lapses in their boarders with their level of sophistication? If no, then Nigeria government should not be totally isolated for blames if he can't secure his boarders 100% for now, with time we will get there. But for now, the best way to secure our oil from being smuggled elsewhere is subsidy removal and so shall it be. 2 Likes |

RenaissanceGuy: Cross, but don't make it to their destination before being caught. Do your research. Our borders are nothing to write home about. American borders have cells that immigrants are kept even kids. Those hundreds of thousands that you claim cross, 10% make it through to their destination, and after sometime, more than half of the 10% get caught and deported. You can't live that long in USA without identification. No matter what. One way or the other, you'll get caught. |

Ofunaofu:You people should stop comparing Nigeria with Angola. Aside the fact that Angola just reduced subsidies as well, they have a minuscule population (34million) when compared to ours and produce a daily volume of crude that isn’t wey distant from what we produce. Yet Nigeria has a lower dept to GDP which is less than 30% while that of Angola is above 40%. Nigeria is a truly the giant of Africa 3 Likes |

I dont know where you got your analysis from but in absolute values, fuel is cheaper in Nigeria than the USA. https://www.globalpetrolprices.com/gasoline_prices/ In any case, why did you limit your comparison to USA? Why not compare with Saudi, Oman , Qatar, Russia etc who are major players in the oil sectors and are already more developed than Nigeria. What is the relative cost of fuel locally in those places? Why not compare with the European countries who are richer than Nigeria and can afford to subsidise fuel for their people. Of all the major oil producing countries in the world only Angola, Libya, Venezuela and Iran have local prices cheaper than Nigeria and even Angola is looking to remove the subsidy soonest. And by the way of all these countries only Iran with 87 million people has a relatively large population, Libyans are less than 7 million in number and so why would it be difficult for their government, leaving off the legacy of Ghadaffi not be able to subsidise fuel given also their daily production. TemplarLandry: Sorry bro but The scam has not ended yet. As you can see , they have adjusted the price of fuel to 800 ensuring that their profit margin of 300 remain more or less the same. Before subsidy, when fuel was 200, it was 500 per litre. DO THE MATHS! |
