I went to buy fuel this evening at a filling station close to my area, I was about to add old 100 naira notes and I was told by the attendant that the note is no longer a legal tender. I was confused and I have to call my accounting officer so as to ascertain whether the instructions came from CBN. To my surprise, the staff told me that they've been told not to collect the old 100 naira notes again for months now. I have searched over the internet and I didn't see the news anywhere. Is it normal for CBN to just make such an order without letting the public know?
