Lightorder:Not in this post you quote but yes I mentioned Buhari in several other posts here and made it clear Buhari and his pro-North cabal were yanking Emefiele's chain. For the umpteenth time, I will repeat that my problem with Emefiele, and the main reason I despise him, is that he subscribed to be used to decimate the businesses and socio-economic interests of many Southerners. Buhari retained Emefiele, even as it seemed very unusual at the time because Buhari got rid of all GEJ appointees, because he would have been made to understand that the man had no conscience, no character and no principles hence perfect for the grand heist, detrimental to Southern socio-economic interest, they wanted to get away with and knew that many Southerners would have said a flat no to. An example would be if a man's son wilfully assists a known rapist to defile his own sister and the man's daughter. Do you expect the father to blame the rapist alone and view his son as 'just following orders'? Emefiele is the son. Hope things are now clear for you and all clannish folks whose default setting is to defend their own blindly and automatically. |

Tinubu should fill all positions with his Yoruba people, who would care? Did Buhari not do the same? It's Yoruba turn jare. Yoruba lo kan. It's turn by turn. Nigeria is a miserable country being claimed to be united. Keep deceiving you, Nigeria is just cruising at an altitude of fraud. |

Well, good you said in your opinion. I think Soludo still stands out amongst CBN governor we've had in the last 20 - 30 years. Why do you think he wasnt principled and fearless at that time with the volume of the banking sector rejig he did? Please dont confuse the Soludo of Anambra state governor and Soludo of CBN governor. They are 2 different beings. Based on your analysis the people that come closest is Soludo & maybe a mix of Sanusi in the last 2/3 decades I am not sure you understand yourself when you mentioned Genius and good economist. Perfection doesn't exist in a perspective Ribadu sort who is a good economist Which Ribadu Abeg!!Dsalvo: |

money121:Bankers don't make good CBN governors though! What we need are well trained Economists!! Sanusi did well even though he was banker, primarily because he was also an economist. As well as Soludo. |

mrvitalis:Speak for yourself bro because Some Engineers are senators, governors, footballers, pilots, Police officers, Military officers, business men, etc, so it is no one's fault you lack the ability to learn and understand new areas of endeavours. There are many engineers who are chartered accountants and doing well in the accounting sector. What is so special about micro and macro economics for developing economies that an engineer will not study and pass. Isn't Economics far easier than Engineering? Na which school you graduate from sef? The engineer you are hating with all your stomach has double masters and one of his masters is in administration. He also have over 30 years in the banking sector and rose to the position of deputy director in CBN. Would he have risen to that level if he wasn't good? Even as we speak, there are engineers in all the sectors of the economy and doing well |

Seun:100% correct Engineer can learn anything they need to know within a short period of time I don’t know why people always say he’s not economist Economist also read to become economist Go and check all the major banks before you quote me and see what post an engineer holds there |

post=123689940:I read engineers disproportionately lead over 30% of fortune 100 companies. That percentage might be even higher I'm an engineer myself and I know the big investment funds go out to hire engineering and technical graduates because the discipline gives to acute logical analysis. |

asanausana91:The reason for his appointment is that he is the Deputy Governor (Operations Department) . He has over 3 decades of Banking industry experience and because he is an engineer. Firstly, I am an engineer in addition to other professional trainings and qualifications. My engineering training opened my intelligence more than any other training I have done because of hard thinking, mathematical modelling and analysis, control systems, statistics, engineering economics & management. Professor NDUBUISI EKEKWE the Lead Faculty of TEKEDIA is an engineer by training. It would be very difficult for a management or social science graduate to outsmart him if they were in the organization for even 20 years. CBN governor is not the only person managing the economy. We have economic team. Economic Adviser and Minister of Finance are part of the team. Tinubu as the President and a private sector expert is the Chief Economic Adviser to himself. Tinubu understands economics and economy. Tinubu had dialogue with the private sector during campaign. He will continue to interact with them. An engineer is opened to deep hard thinking and analysis, mathematical modelling and control systems, statistics, engineering economics and management. Moreover, all the financial platforms such as SWIFT and other electronic banking platforms are under operations. We need to know what has transpired within the last one year, particularly, the last 90 days. It is the operations that can make such information available to DSS, EFCC and Presidency. It is good the head of operations is made the Acting Governor. |

babaolofin:why not tell us that your tinubu is God he doesn't make mistake? Why didn't you tell us the reason why the first two were not chosen? Then lastly why can't you tell us the name of secondary school that Tinubu attended that qualified him to be called an accountant? I know you will run away from these questions. |

mayo47:Bro, contextual example and not a literal one. I dont mean Ribadu is an economist. I mean a good economist who is unconventional, brave and ready to take on a patriotic challenge as men like Ribadu, Elliot Ness and co have done for their nation knowing it may cost them their lives. That is what Nigeria need but most well-paid ajebutter genuis economists, who appreciate their services is in premium demand, dont get down like that. When threats and intimidation comes, they will likely flee than stand their ground patriiotically. Per Soludo, I rate him highly. I even tip him to be an Igbo future President because of how he is astute, realistic and able to think outside the box. Nonetheless, he is another Akinwumi Adeshina i.e brilliant and efficient core technocrat but only in the right and enabling environment. In contrast, there are economists who may not be geniuses at the highest level but would produce the best result for the unique environment of Nigeria and want we want to achive, for now, because they are bullish and not afraid to mix it. Not everything you people need to get clannishly defensive about. I was not knocking Soludo, who I personally admire, but merely accepting pragmatically that he may not be the man for this particular job at this very time. Horses for courses mate. That's the name of the success game. |

Seun:Is it not his post that should takeover once the CBN governor is suspended? Secondly, his stint is temporary. He is simply acting. GEJ appointed an Igbo man as the CBN governor, an Igbo as Finance minister and another Igbo Elwesili. I have forgotten her post. People stating Tinubu simply appointed Shonubi solely on tribal grounds are not interested in the truth. Who he picks as CBN governor is what matters and merit should trump every other thing. |

asanausana91:You are a jobless youth or an uncivilized crude Onitsha main market trader. What makes him the least qualified? Because he is a Yoruba man or because the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT is the least department? Which one is the first two? Show us the Organogram (Organization Chart) of CBN that makes the Deputy Governor (Operations Department) the least qualified to be an Acting Governor of CBN. Is the Financial System stability or Corporate Services more than Operations Department? What is the effect of the Financial System stability or Corporate Services on the operations of the banking systems and various International and local banking platforms being used in Nigeria? Operations Department is the engine room and the heart of the banking systems. This is where fraud and deals are transmitted electronically and this is where EFCC and DSS monitor and track. Macro and Micro economic analysis can be done by an engineer that has been in Financial analysis environment for over 3 decades. You must show us the Organogram (Organization Chart) of CBN that makes the Deputy Governor (Operations Department) the least qualified to be an Acting Governor of CBN. Young trader, Tinubu graduated from Chicago State University with First Class in Business Administration (Accounting). A trader can develop himself without going through former secondary education to sit for examination which qualify you to be admitted into the University. |

I will never forget how Emefiele made me and my 2 children to trek from Berger to Federal secretariat Abuja just bcoz we didn't have cash on us. Emefiele made me to buy #6,000 with #10,000. Is that not devaluation? Emefiele made me to leave the house at 5.00am to rush to bank picking number 524 for #2,000 per day from the ATM machine. My own money o. Emefiele made my children to trek kilometers to school and back, and my son later fell ill. Emefiele, may heaven reward you and your family for the pains you wickedly inflicted on Nigeria economy (inflation) and Nigerians. |

JIBO4REAL:Many Nigerians supported the policy initially, until the initiators of the policy messed it up. So if you want call anobody out, Buhari should be the number one. |

WhizdomXX:No, he should not be confirmed. We don't need anyone with engineering background. CBN Gov is meant for an Economist. And it's Jonathan that caused it. When he removed Sanusi, he was advised to look for an Economist but the likes of Jim Ovia, Tony Elumelu and the Access Bank MD Aigbogie confused and convinced him, and he went for a banker. And if I have my way, I'll suggest either Dr Moghalu (fmr Deputy Gov CBN) or Prof Uwaleke of nasarawa state university. |

Tareq1105:We don't need any economist as a CBN governor. Engineering training gives a wider coverage of management analysis and decision for an engineer that has been in the banking environment for over 3 decades. For experience, Fola Adeola should be appointed as the next CBN governor. Joseph Sanusi spent 5 years. Soludo spent 5 years, Lamido Sanusi spent 5 years, Emefiele spent 9 years. The next governor should be an experienced financial and management expert. Fola Adeola the founding partner of GT Bank should be considered. |

Yoighaman:Exactly what I am saying. Someone like Jonathan was warned to change the IG, the inec chairman, remove Sanusi, but he was not man enough. He did not appreciate the amount of power the president has. How will you allow obvious enemies hold critical positions? Anyway, Tinubu is an old had and understand power. |
