https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BM338soGB4Q Using SE as a case Study As the effect of Subsidy removal on PMS has continued to be felt among Nigerians, especially homes and businesses that relies primarily on petrol, a Nigerian from Anambra state, South East, seems to have proffered solution to counter the rising cost of petrol. The man converts Generators which runs on petrol, to Gas powered Generators. Since the removal of subsidy on Petrol, families and businesses spends average of N5000-N10000 naira to run Generators daily, while a cooking of 12kg which cost about N7000 can run a generator for more than a week. Lots of households and businesses are converting their generators to gas powered generators to save cost.

This is nothing new. Many new generators have that adaptability from the onset with their carburators.. |

It is natural people look at alternatives to subdue the petrol cost pressure. |
| Re: Using Nigerian Ingenuity To Counter The Effect Of Subsidy Removal by ObongBassey: 2:21pm On Jun 11, 2023 |
jmoore:It's safe as long as the cylinder is kept away from the generator |

Mindlog:Tell us where you have been using it. Tell us where you source your carburator |

CodeTemplar:I do buy fuel 5000 every night to power my house because we have not had electricity for over 4months. With this I will save money |

Generalmystic:I don't need to use it to prove it is not new because I don't even need it but see the attached The Guardian reportage.... note, the 2016 date. I was involved in a project where our generator was powered by methane generated from farm waste ....so this is no big deal.

Mindlog:Wow this is wonderful. But don't say you don't need to use it, nobody loves waste of scarce resources |

Generalmystic:I don't live in Nigeria thus have no need for such, my family homes both in Lagos and in the village are both off grid as they are powdered by a mix of solar and wind, while the cooking gas in the village house is methane processed from the installed biodigester which is fed with food and farm wastes. |

It's not new. Someone installs it around kayode street at ogba in lagos and I've known about it close to 3 years. I saw no need for it but I'm sure if I knew a 12.5 kg gas would last one week what the petrol equivalent would last just a day, I would have gotten it done. The veracity of how economic and lasting the gas is compared to petrol is the main issue now. |

Generalmystic:this is my best thread of the year so far, highly innovative. Op . hope there wouldn't be any negative mishaps by using this formula ? |
| Re: Using Nigerian Ingenuity To Counter The Effect Of Subsidy Removal by Supremos: 4:33pm On Jun 11, 2023 |
gbadexy:I'm searching for who will install the carburetor for me. 12kg gas last for 2weeks on the generator according to the guy. But even if it is just 1week or 3days it's still better than spending minimum of 3000k-5000k every night just for home alone, not to talk of vehicles and office |
| Re: Using Nigerian Ingenuity To Counter The Effect Of Subsidy Removal by Generalmystic(op): 4:36pm On Jun 11, 2023 |
smileyoo:No mishap. Don't you use Gas cylinder at home?. The only caution I would suggest is to properly isolate your gas cylinder from the generator. |

The east is always over prepared. A friend once told me that the east would have ended up like either Ukraine or south Korea had biafra campaign being successful |
