McStoic:In reality they're actually fed these type of propaganda on a regular basis and from the cradle. I've seen it first hand. A friend of mine from the Yoruba stock told me so. Infact he said the first time he came to my house in Lagos, he was afraid I would kill him and eat. Now you can imagine what they have been told about going to the South East |

obyrich:I dey wonder o. They always drag , curse , troll and insult their own leaders as if these Igbo leaders are piece of sh*t. I am shocked to read that Mr Ikpeazu actually did something great, it is all insults I read about him for 8 years till date and even days ago that he went with the G-5 to visit PBAT. Few days ago, I corrected a naive but lovely Igbo teen calling Wike a bastard. I was shocked by his audacity to call someone older than his parents a bastard

ArewaQuitessenc:It will take you a month to go around Aba. Anything you see in Aba now is Ikpeazu's signature, good or bad. |
| Re: I Just Visited Aba For The First Time by obyrich(m): 11:53am On Jun 12, 2023 |
FreeStuffsNG:I don't blame his critics. Politics is an art, Ikpeazu was not good at it. I can tell the story of Aba infra issues from the time of military junta till the present democracy. The worst government in Abia, post-military, was TA Orji's. Ikpeazu did a lot of job in infra upgrade in Aba but failed to properly articulate his achievements. |

ArewaQuitessenc:Thanks for your honest opinion about Aba. It's obvious you were surprised to see a large city with fairly tall buildings and not a place filled with bad roads, refuse and shanties as you were made to believe. Aba is a unique city in Nigeria, and alongside Onitsha and Nnewi, they're the indigenous production centers, capable of making Nigeria great like the Asian Tigers. The average Aba citizen believes in hardwork and perseverance. The youths are contented with doing spectacular works for little profit, while focusing on mass production to break even. You can check Azikiwe by Kent. That's the cloth production capital of Nigeria. There are hundreds of shops here producing shirts, trousers, bedspreads, boxers, suits, lab coats and overalls etc. You will see bails going to different parts of Nigeria and beyond! Also go to Ariaria and find your way to Bakassi area. Here, you will find hundreds of shops and warehouses producing shoes, bags and all types of leather works. You will also see lots of them being packed into bails for distribution all over Nigeria and beyond. Aba has lots of production hubs where different things are produced. Unfortunately, there is another section around Cemetery where fake and substandard things are produced. However, it's the job of government to stop illegal activities going on around Cemetery area. Aba has vast potential and that's why Barth Nnaji built Nigeria's first big power station there, to serve the large SME's. There are also industrial estates at Osisioma, Eziama, River layout and Umuokohia. In these places, you will find breweries, bottling companies, flour mills, Vegetable oil, glass production, machine tools, drugs etc. Even though Igbo language is spoken widely by default, virtually everyone will easily switch to English or pidgin if they realize you're not Igbo. They don't discriminate against outsiders because lots of people from different parts of Nigeria come to the city to buy goods everyday. Enjoy your stay! |

Abagworo:Yeah the heap of refuse Ikpeazu could not clear in 8 years Alex Otti have cleared it in less than a week in office. |
| Re: I Just Visited Aba For The First Time by Abagworo(m): 12:18pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
Ikpeazu tried but had a bigger propaganda against him.
|
| Re: I Just Visited Aba For The First Time by Abagworo(m): 12:21pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
paramakina202:Ikpeazu tried in keeping Aba clean. Just be truthful and leave propaganda. After election was when the recent garbage started building but then Otti has not yet modelled out the way to clear them as they keep rebuilding. I follow Southeast current affairs very well. |
| Re: I Just Visited Aba For The First Time by Abagworo(m): 12:38pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
First photo is a big Hospital built by Ikpeazu in old Aba township followed by Azikiwe road he also built and lastly the road to his community within Aba urban. What propagandists do is to search and pick out every fault and exaggerate them. For example if a road develops fault at one or two spots or has heap of garbage at a junction you'll most likely see those ones online as if most of the road or area isn't good.

Otti has not done any work in Abia for now... anything you see there was done by Ikpeazu.....he PR game was low |
| Re: I Just Visited Aba For The First Time by NwekereNdokl: 12:38pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
Aba is a lot better than Owerri right now. Imo is a failed state Abagworo: |
| Re: I Just Visited Aba For The First Time by paramakina202: 12:39pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
Abagworo:I do not do propaganda for a living unlike you that was a chief propagandist for Rochas. Why didn't Ikpeazu clear the refuse before leaving office?Oh he was busy commissioning uncompleted projects. |
| Re: I Just Visited Aba For The First Time by Abagworo(m): 12:55pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
paramakina202:I'm too big to do propaganda like I've always maintained here. I see the truth and write it. Rochas was good and one of the best Governors ever in history of Nigeria. Just like I have also said Ikpeazu did well and with evidence so do I have for Okorocha. Giving free education from Primary to University is an unmatchable fit not to talk of building over 500 schools. If you know any Governor who has done it before or later mention him. |
| Re: I Just Visited Aba For The First Time by Abagworo(m): 12:59pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
NwekereNdokl:Aba is the fastest developing and most peaceful city in Southeast as at present. No unknown gunmen and no political crisis. It is left for the new Government not to spoil it like they did to Owerri playing dirty politics. |
| Re: I Just Visited Aba For The First Time by NwekereNdokl: 1:01pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
Useless miserable poor miscreant. Please list Okoroawusa projects that are standing today. Okorocha took imo state almost 100yrs backwards. Where’s Owerri flyover, where Owerri ICC, etc. what about the dilapidated roads in Owerri? Okorocha was a disaster At the same period Obiano delivered an international airport in Anambra, built the Nigeria’s biggest and best ICC in Awka, built Awka flyovers, stadium, etc Umahi did similar things too, built airport,ICC, stadium, flyovers, etc Where are Okorocha projects Onye ala Abagworo: |
| Re: I Just Visited Aba For The First Time by NwekereNdokl: 1:04pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
The point I am making is that Aba is a lot better than Owerri. At least Aba has functional flyover but Owerri has none even after Okorocha wasted billions to build substandard unusable flyover that has been abandoned Abagworo: |
| Re: I Just Visited Aba For The First Time by CJStarz: 1:26pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
You cannot give kudos to Gov. Otti yet because he's barely few weeks in government and couldn't have done all that you mentioned, though we believe he would do more. The previous administration, under Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu performed excellently in terms of road infrastructure. At least 90 percent of unmotorable roads are now easily accessible. Too bad people chose to dwell on his failures rather than his achievements. |
| Re: I Just Visited Aba For The First Time by paramakina202: 1:28pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
Abagworo:To know a good or bad governor just go around the states they governed and interview citizens what they think about them. Enter Aba and Umuahia and interview folks what they think about Okezie Ikpeazu and the reason they rejected him in state and senatorial elections earlier this year.He did well indeed. After that go round and interview people living in Owerri about Rogue Okorocha and come back here we can then continue if you are actually not into propaganda. |
| Re: I Just Visited Aba For The First Time by Ogene001: 1:28pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
obyrich:We told them that ikpeazu was better than most SW governors but they relied on negative media stereotype |

Goalnaldo:He is comparing with what people say online |
| Re: I Just Visited Aba For The First Time by Abagworo(m): 1:31pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
NwekereNdokl:It's all politics. There is nothing wrong with Owerri flyovers except politics of trying to deny Okorocha his credits which is also reason for demolition of tunnels and roundabouts then Hospitals fully completed demolished or abandoned to rot as waste. Know this and know peace. But my eeason for rating Okorocha very high is not about building this or that but he was focused on education for all which is the best gift you can give anyone you love. His policy of free education for all Imo citizens in Imo owned schools from Primary to University changed the lives of many who would have remained poor and uneducated. Human capacity building is ahead of concretes and sand but then he did all . |

[You're right, bro. Former Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu did quite well but was rubbished by the press. quote author=homosapien post=123740993] Someone that took office less than a month ago, and you are attributing what you saw in Aba to him. Make una dey objective small naa. Yes ikeapzu might be called a failure, he still tried in his own little way in changing the face of Aba. What ever you see in Aba isIkeapzu doing not otti.
|
