If one can be able to complete the ALX Software Engineering program will it be a guarantee to land remote job with companies abroad and possibly relocate.
On the other hand, I’m considering relocating to the uk via study route.
I’m a frontend developer with up to 3 years experience.
The ultimate goal for me is to work for foreign companies as the pay is higher.
My family is ready to support me with some funds for the uk project but I’m not yet convinced that it’s the best path for me and I don’t really want to go there and start doing odd jobs since the money for the project won’t even be enough to pay for my tuition fee completely and I have to work while schooling to meet up.
I will love to relocate sincerely but I also want it to be via work and not via studying as it will be cheaper and more fitting to my lifestyle (I’m not a regular hustler 😢).
I have already assembled almost all the needed documents for the uk study route but I am still not fully convinced to be honest.
For context, if money isn’t an issue, I wouldn’t mind at all as it’s obvious that if one can relocate abroad, there are better opportunities there. But that’s not the case.
The budget for this relocation by study route is 7m-8m.
I don’t think this will be enough to even pay tuition fee complete not to talk about other stuffs.
Am I being too soft or fearful or over cautious?

You better japa to the UK if you know whats good for you. You are even lucky to have a supportive family. What do you need ALX for after having 3 years of experience?

Oga forget ALX and japa, you already have a skill and some experience. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. You can learn anything you want to learn with or without ALX. There are other alternatives to ALX.

Yes but I dont think their admission is open at the moment except you want to wait for next year. If you plan to wait, convert the money your family has to USD and keep.

Even after getting a sponsor, to change employers is hard. But for someone with 3 years progressive experience, I won't discourage someone who's family is able to support them not to go to UK. Las las you get the degree and disconnect to US, CAN or Germany. It's easier to get European jobs from UK than from Naija

What you said is also what I have been thinking, though they might not buy the idea of Finland because it’s relatively a small country and small economy compared to the uk.

There's a lady called aphrodite007 that was based in the UK. She also said the same thing and she was a tech recruiter. She said for every one tech sponsorship job there's like 15 care jobs available and many guys had to do care jobs cause they couldn't get tech jobs. You can search her username on nairaland.

You will need a job to retain your stay in the UK except you wanna finish your studies and return back to Nigeria.

Finland admission window will open shortly in september. If you don't have Ielts already try to get IELTS ready before then (if you want to study Masters). You don't need IELTS if you're seeking Bachelors degree, your WAEC should suffice for that.

Go to Finland, UK has 60 days to chase you out once your visa expires. Finland gives you residency permit that allows you to stay until that permit is expired whether you have a job or not.

Finland is very cold, that is the only drawback. Uk is warmer.
