Stop Victimising Those Who Voted Against APC, Group Tells Sanwo-olu by bennybuhari(op): 3:08pm On Jun 22, 2023
A socio-political group, Rescue Nigeria Economy Project (RNEP) has enjoined Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to use his second term to work for all Lagosians and not victimise those who did not vote for him in the recently concluded general elections.

The group, in a statement signed by its Executive Secretary, Dennis Alamu–George on Thursday said it is worried that some of the governor’s policies and actions by officials of Lagos State Government are targeted at the opposition, especially some members of Labour Party (LP).

It cited the incident of tax payment involving Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo and the demolition of some buildings at Alaba are some worrying cases that rather than unite Lagosians, the government is embarking on victimisation of those who did not queue behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the elections.

“We appeal to the governor to put the elections behind him and do his utmost to unite Lagosians. Since God has given him victory, he should endeavour to embrace all Lagosians, irrespective of whether they voted for him or not. Lagos state was one of the states that was heavily polarised along ethnic and religious divides during the last election”.

“ When Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo was given a seven-day ultimatum by the Lagos State Government to pay N18,640,092.00 as her income tax or risk jail, we kept quiet thinking they were just doing their jobs. However, we noticed none of the actors and actresses who publicly supported the APC during the elections were visited by the tax payers”.

“The actress has publicly said she was being targeted because she criticised the APC and supported the Labour Party during the elections. The recent demolitions of some buildings at Alaba Market where a large section of the traders and residents voted against the APC seems to lend credence to her claim” the group said.

Just wait for some weeks, all Igbos in Lagos Civil Service and Teaching Service will be sacked. You can then cry to the UN and ICC
Lolz, you lack cognitive reasoning, sacking of IGBOS and demolishing their properties is what makes you happy? People like you are never do wells.

Lagos state government is concerned about lives, not like you igbos who like money more than human beings, this your bad habit of trying to control people and crying tribalistic chants anytime Lagos is trying to do what's best for the state, is the reason why people dislike you. Stop this narcissistic behavior it's irritating, crying like little babies everywhere. Read all through nairaland, everytime biafrans and ohaneze crying everywhere grin
