I don't get it too, rank and file should be promoted 2yrs or 3yrs to boost their moral. But the reverse is the case, they always promote supo rapidly,people with big ranks. some officers spent 5to6yrs even seven before promoted to inspector or 1star. Is like politics or is like they go for special course or pay their due to authority.

Just what I said when I first saw the news. We would have been hearing cries and wailings if it was a Fulani or Yoruba man that got promoted twice within the space of 4 months. Nobody is crying nepotism now😂

Good one for Mba but he can’t be IG.

Reason:

When the any IG leaves, an Aig get promoted to IG. People don’t usually go from DIG to IG, according to police promotion structure. I’m not saying it can’t happen in this situation, but the probability of Mba becoming an IG is 1%.

It would have been better if they gave him AIG forsec, which is the most senior Aig position “ almost “ equivalent to a DIG. That would have paved the way for him to become IG.
