Let's be realistic Nigeria doesn't have more than 100 language In fact the whole Nigeria can be roughly grouped into 10 regions like Wilinks did in 1958 Most are just dialect of the a language 2 Likes |

mrvitalis: Ignorance is bliss... I know you are Igbo and one of those that keep claiming other tribes as Igbo. So I'm not surprised at your assertion. |

lexylaw09:Not all akoko, maybe you mean the uhame or so speakers... Majority of Akoko (80%) people speak a dialect of Yoruba language. |

mrvitalis: I always hear people refer to wilinks, what study did he pubish and where can i access it? |
Re: Number Of Language By Country by AwkaFinest: 4:27pm On Jun 25, 2023 |
Maazieze: Ipob and Ipob sympathizers always refer to it, because it's a write up that they believe supports their claim. Funny thing is they'll only pick the part that suits them and leave the other parts. |

Maazieze:Let me simplify it the British created Nigeria the way it is for easy administration, but when they wanted to give us independent they called everyone together, to determine what they wanted, what they didn't like of the then present structure... What they wanted Willinks was the head of job... They determined that for Nigeria to be stable it must have 10 regions 10 regions each semi independents But Bello, Zik and awolowo wanted more power refused to create the 10 regions... Maintained the 3 regions... Zik and Bello ganged up to create mid West Awolowo tried to create middle belt and cross river n rivers region but failed People like me still believe if Nigeria must survive as a nation we must visit willinks report Create the 10 regions then each regions have provinces along tribal lines... Everyone grow at their pace... You google it |

I for one believe Nigeria has more languages than the figure reported. Kaduna state alone has more than 300 languages. In Sanga local government alone I know if the Numama, Ninzom and about two other languages I cant remember now. Each does not hear what the others speak unless they use Hausa language, so is applicable to other local Government councils. Edo, Benue, kogi, Nassarawa, Taraba. plateau states are examples. |
