It's currently our biggest corruption. Oil marketers lie about fuel consumption and get paid for it. They get the fuel cheap due to subsidies and smuggle the fuel to neighboring countries to re-sell. This is not godliness but corruption.

Corrupt people can manipulate any avenue to defraud the people . It's the weakness of the government that they are exploiting but the government rather than deal with their failures choose to cut us off... They choose the easy way out and made us casualty. We are not the ones exploiting the system and none of those has been caught or punished because the government is complicit.

May increase in price of electricity favour me and my family

I’m saying the prayer that Ronu people said we should be saying.

I’m sure if they go to NEPA office and shout “Yoruba Ronu”, their own price will be reduced.😏

No o c'mon I heard they are not even paying a dime

Give me 20hours of electricity daily, I'm ready to pay 100k monthly

Move to a better neighborhood.

I don't think there is a Tier I and II city in Nigeria that does not have neighborhoods on special arrangements with the natal DISCO.

The rents are higher in these upscale areas.

Personally, I think this is an efficient structure. If you need the power, go to the more expensive neighborhoods. If you only need a couple of hours, like the average 9-5'rs, stay in the cheaper neighborhoods.

Do not take up living quarters that'll best serve the lower classes.

Not surprised, subsidy on electricity is gone too.
Now it's free market capitalism that punish the lazy and idle more severely.
It will soon reach the politicians who live on a fake life of free money.

All their accounts are now flagged on surveillance by CBN, NFIU and EFCC. Social media addiction that kills productivity and fuel wastage of scarce resources can now go down too.

In my earlier post, I stated that South.Beasts don't have leadership qualities because they are too emotional, bitter, hateful, BIGOTED to be able to make logical decisions.

One of the biggest campaign promises LAMBA made was immediate removal of fuel subsidy.

What were the things LAMBA promised to use to cussion the effect of fuel subsidy removal?

Subsidy on electricity is also gone! Eti je aaro ati Osan papo, it's now time of reckoning.

Anyone who still wants to keep having multiple children he or she can not feed, clothe and train but hoping that govt will do so can go ahead. It is waste of time calling any youth lazy again o.

Even companies will start charging you for using their data and electricity to charge your phone to do your social media idle fun time again.
what is the present minimum wages?
So children of the poor not eligible for loan don't deserve education also?

I don't know why Nigeria has simply refused to evolve as a nation. While every other countries in the world are using other sources to generate electricity, we are still stuck with what we know. How can you be telling us that the exchange rate has affected the price of electricity. It's not making sense to me. I think with this new Electricity Act, let every state start looking for means to generate their own electricity. This national grid and disco rubbish isn't paying us anymore. You removed subsidy, salaries remain the same, now you want to increase cost of power again. Please where do you want us to see money? Should we go and steal or do yahoo? Why aren't Nigerians considerate like this? Honestly we are an effed up people, Nigerians. We are so effed up.

Nigeria and doing things b4 they are fully prepared for it.

Why not allow every flat owner to have portable, easily installable( which can be done by any electrician) and affordable meters that for now wouldn't be more than N10,000 such that even students can own one and with time the price drops a bit to half or N7500? So, everyone can guage what they use per day

We can do what is right but the craze to make money is so insane.

More than 50 percent of customers are not metered and are billed under estimation. It's only fair that every customer is metered before tariff increase so that they manage their energy consumption. NLC should not protest the increase but demand energy metre for all.

The truth is that prepaid meters only works well in developed countries where the houses are fully built and electrified.
You are just a tenant and move in and by your meter credit.
Here in Nigeria, that we buy land and build house, then buy meter and call nepa and electrician to connect it,
what is to stop my hand from changing the meter connection in the night? I'm the one that built the house.
I'm the one that knows how I wired it to the meter.
So we will still successfully cheat nepa by bypassing the meter. And they will still lose.
I lived in UK for 4 years. I didn't even see ONE WIRE ANYWHERE. In the house, on the street, in school ... NOTHING. NO WIRE.
All connections were professionally done and properly concealed. You cannot do illegal connection there to bypass meter. Impossible.
pple de do illegal connection abroad all it needs is proper monitoring...
