I vomited till dawn after taking sprite last week. I never experienced such since I was born.

Ever since coca cola drinks manufactured in Nigeria for Nigerians failed the integrity and standard test, they've lost my patronage, just as Pepsi has taken over their position.

Typical NAFDAC, as the fake food safety agency that it pretends to be.

If NAFDAC is really caring for public safety , it should impose a comprehensive ban on all sprite drinks and force the company to recall all sprite currently in circulation, then order the immediate stop to any further production of the drinks until the company can successfully demonstrate that their drinks are safe.

How is alerting Nigerians going to prevent thousands of people unknowingly consuming the unsafe drinks?

Not fake, contaminated. According to the report, particles were found in them which means the plant bottled them under unhygienic conditions.

It might be difficult to recall the ones that have been sold to retailers who bought from other retailers, if you know what I mean. Sometimes, the purchase chain is quite long. However, alerting the public will make consumers stay away from the product and protect themselves.

Its even good that its in sprite which is a bit transparent. The same company makes coca cola which is dark in colour and will not let you see the particles floating around in the bottle of coke.

Like someone once said, its only the food you cooked yourself from raw ingredients or the juice you squeezed yourself from raw fruits that is healthy and safe to consume as there is just too much rubbish going into processed food or drink.

Going further, someone also said that if a particular food was not around 500 years ago, he will not eat it and this rules out bread, pasta, white rice, pizza, burgers, sausage, bacon and all fast food.

Btw, a woman was arrested in Lagos some years ago selling big chunks of ponmo to unsuspecting members of the public who thought they were getting a bargain without knowing that the rogue trader had soaked / injected the ponmo in the fluid used to embalm dead bodies in order to bulk them up.

All the talk without mentioning compensation to affected consumers.

NAFDAC are always just pretending to be working for the public's health but their covert role is put stamps of approval on foods and drugs that we should otherwise avoid for health and safety reasons

NAFDAC is long dead after Akunyili. One Adeyeye was always releasing news via NANs some years back but that couldnt revive their image.

I wrote last year them suggesting investigation of certain drinks, but no response or action till date.

Now, the rumour about using acid to peal groundnuts did not get any swift response. It is important that the sale of peeled groundnut is banned. All over the world it is only in Nigeria that even leprous people manually shell peanuts and put them out for sale to the public.

The news about the use of acid should have been an eye opener.

Groundnuts are sold in un shelled forms (the last outer layer being intact) and shelled if industrially done.

Something that was produced since April. People don drink am finish abeg.
