If its in developed world,i will say it’s normal!
In china every story building frm 2 upwards has a lift installed and also lift for cargos,where u can move your bike or goods to and lift it till it reaches your floor

Toy bike made with very light plastic.

he is most likely out of town and rather than leave it downstairs unattended for days, he decided to take it up. Thieves have a knack for noticing when an item has been left untouched for days and begin to survey the item for the best time to come steal it.

Maybe it’s temporarily due for repairs. In such a case, suffering to take it upstairs will make sense especially if it’ll spend two weeks to a month idle. When it starts working again, he’ll leave it outside for daily commute.
