Have you heard of Oluwa Glas before? That used to be the manufacturer of windscreen for automobile in Nigeria in the 70s and 80s. It was located in ondo state. No leader of nowadays can wear Awolowo's shoes. He did all these yet, no private jets, no helicopter was traced to him. He had no investments abroad, even though he could achieve all that with his influence and position. He was father of the masses. Apart form Odu'a investments, he brought into the countries several multinationals to boost our economy. Coca cola is virtually in every state of the nation today creating jobs. Odu'a also had a ceramic company, manufacturing food plates and tiles in those days. Those were the stuffs that made us giants of africa not the oil. We were importing so little and exporting so much. Our leaders, both past and present killed them all with their bad policies.

The military, majorly led by the north really did Nigeria shege. What the country is facing today is a consequence of bad rule in the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000S, and the rage continues. That's why we are saying the likes of tinubu should vacate and allow those who don't belong to the the clique step in and people are citing tribalism, calling great thinkers all manner of names as if we all live in another countries apart from Nigeria. Before the election. I had said tinubu won't favour the masses with his policies and we're seeing it already. I hope those praising him, including yourself are enjoying already. There are more stringent policies to come. Governance is all about serving the masses, not making life difficult for them.
This is the truth. None of our current leaders can wear Awolowo's shoes, not even Tinubu. You are spot on.

I think it's still early into Tinubu's administration. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt. God forbid he fails, people that think Yoruba are tribalists will have a rethink. His disgrace will start from home.
I pray he succeeds.

Times are changing. Odua group, DAWN, state governments and elite of the south west should know that efforts at positioning the south west for prosperity and economic greatness will always have hiccups unless measures to control the steady influx of economic refugees from - you know where - are designed and implemented.

These vermin attempted to destroy the economic base of our dear father land during the politically motivated endsars. They also attempted to supplant the leadership of Lagos during the last elections. They successfully fouled the voters register by moving their terrorist brothers from their caves to register en masse in some parts of Lagos.

They are always jealous of the SW and they have not hidden their disdain for the SW despite finding means of survival there.

SW oil ? When Yoruba are crawling all around SS and SE looking for wells ? 😂😂😂😂

Yorubas are educated, competent and therefore employed by the big multiple national oil companies. They are well paid to do so while lazy SS people prefer to lay about and wait for free money because the oil is on their land. Should that now be Yorubas' headache too?

Yorubas are crawling all over SS and SE looking for wells while you are in your bed complaining. See how stupidity has finished your life? You can't even reason properly because you want to display hatred towards Yorubas but it's you that will complain of hate! Try use some tramadol for your hate-induced headache.

Sorry, you didn't read your history very well. No single drop of oil yet SW is more developed, structurally and mentally. Or why is it that many of you are actually heading to this same SW?

Yea. Pa Awo was not a selfish man, neither was any of his followers . I was opportune to see him on 2 occasions, growing uo. No wonder nobody has been able to break pa jakande's record in Africa today on housing. He was one of his followers. He built the largest housing estate in Africa in the 80s without borrowing kobo as governor of lagos state. All these happened in less than 4 years.

As if that wasn't enough, he replicated same as minister of works under the military. Have you heard of gwarinpa housing estate in Abuja before? It was him who did it. Till today, no country in Africa has achieved this. It remains the largest in Africa. Go to msryland in lagos and see pa jakande's house. You'd be shocked.

All the leaders we have today are only looking for means of stealing and taking our money overseas and enriching their corrupt friends. I think they're cursed. Our generation really needs to have a rethink, bring ourselves together and not allow them deceive us again, in order to have their way.

PS; we must desist from making comments that appear to be tribalistic in this forum. Nairaland Mods must ensure that they're doing their job to ensure that this space accommodates people from all walks of life.

On the news on the ground, I think it is time for regional companies like Odu'a Group to engage the public about positive investment practices.
Our quest of each region maximising their potential will be achievable if organisations such as this are at the forefront of the growth and development of Nigeria.

Your founding father Awolowo asked for Nigeria to break.

What are you still looking for oil in SS and South East?

Break and move stop blaming others for while you have no drop of oil .

Tell your people to bring out Thier cans Elijah will be moving soon to look for a house to bless with oil 😂😂😂😂
Oil in where undecided
The nine top oil producing states in Nigeria are:

Akwa Ibom- the largest oil producer with 31.4% (504,000 BPD)
Delta – 21.56% (346,000 BPD)
Rivers – 21.43% (344,000 BPD)
Bayelsa – 18.07% (290,000 BPD)
Ondo – 3.74% (60,000 BPD)
Lagos – 2.64% (40,000 BPD)
Edo – 2.06% (33,000 BPD)
Imo-1.06 % (17,000 BPD)
Abia-0.68% (11,000 BPD)

As you can see, even the South West is producing 4× for oil than the SE

I was expecting this. There are plethora of literatures, books both physical and online that pointed to the fact that Federal Government if like Awolowo made several offers to bring in Food via a mutually agreed channels into Biafra but were spurned by Dim Emeka Ojukwu.
The blockage was necessary to stop further weapon supply to Biafra and was not necessarily and importantly for starvation. What is normally done in most warfare is for both parties to workout a corridor through which only food items will be made available to civilians who are mostly bearing the consequences of a war. An example is the war in Ukraine, where the international community created a grain route out of Ukraine, this was agreed to by Russians.
In the case of Biafra, Ojukwu insisted that food into Biafra must come only at his terms and channels. Even when the situation became terrible, he never shifted his position allowing his people to die and gleefully showcasing these accross the world as propaganda instrument which was part of his weapon of the war.
As between Ojukwu who allowed his people to surfer and Awolowo who offered food, Igbos choose to celebrate Ojukwu and turn Awolowo to a hate object.
I will implore Igbos to read objectively the account of the Civil War (which is very unfortunate)

It's saddening. I always wonder. Have they have no fear of God? And some sycophants will be praising the looters and embezzlers of our common wealth. That's why we citizens need to put them under pressure to perform.

If Tinubu is wise, he should try to surpass Pa Awo and Jakande in achievements. Maybe then he will be accord the same respect.
Awolowo and Jakande didn't have any scandal, didn't stashed our money overseas or their children and friends participated in the looting.

Both Pa Awo and Jakande have set the standard.
