Morning guys, I just bought a new transsion device itel p40 that was recently released and the following day na so I begin dey receive Whatsapp messages from unknown numbers from China telling me they are buying gift cards at a good rate.
I mean I have been hearing of data theft on phones made in China especially the transsion device but I no dey believe am think say na propaganda to run Chinese products down but now it is very glaring to me that it is very true and I suspect my data may have been breach. Four different numbers sending me messages, will block them another number go take over as in how do they get my WhatsApp line.

You the only one who doesn't know all Chinese phones and tablets are preloaded with spyware

I'm planning to buy this same device bro , hope the device is serving you better.

The device must have been compromised from production. And also, this could also be caused by an app you installed on the device.
Just as a side note, I take my time to go through the permissions apps request these days to see if they are in line with the function of the app. If I notice any suspicious permission, I uninstall immediately. Some months back, I saw a football viewing app on score808 website. After installing, I saw a permission requesting to make and manage phone calls. I couldn't fathom what business a football streaming app has to do with making and managing phone calls, and I had to uninstall it immediately. Just recently as well, I installed a modified Instagram that can download pictures and videos from the app. Just as I was about to download a file, it requested for an "all files access" permission. I had to decline that permission and later uninstalled the app when I got another one that wasn't requesting for such permissions.

I have been getting them too on my WhatsApp for a phone I bought over a year now, I thought it was known contacts who got foreign number trying to scam me. Money no even de, I de block and report ASAP. Real matters, its crazily funny, I just de tink but I have to ask out here, abeg I need help of 5k or least, I need to complete money to carry my shop gen from the mechanic tomorrow morning, light no de fr shop, I can show proof. 3110036705 first bank. 09031567480 is my number, I can reimburse later in the day tomorrow 🙏
