Yeah, it is. A solid plot helmed by a solid cast of early 2000s players. Amazing action sequences, tension that would spike up your adrenaline and have you biting down aggressively.

Kaycee7 has already said it all. If i may add, asides all he mentioned, the cinematography for me was mind blowing, the attention to details was top notch. What makes it remarkable was that it's was a biopics or historical war movie.

Enough capping, just see the movie, it might end up in your archive of movies on your HDD.

Greta still has age on her side and there's a lot of potential to tap into while Kate is in her 70s and could be retiring anytime soon. I think Kate is at the end of her career while Greta is still coming up so we don't know what the future holds and this makes the comparison quite uneven.

However there are several reasons anyone (including me) would easily go with Kate. Kate is a pioneer and she set the table for Greta's generation. Kate is way more experienced with several critically acclaimed projects to her name while Greta has only two. I'm not a big fan of awards but if you are, Kate has won several more including two academy awards.

She is also a bigger box office icon. But all this shît I'm saying is because Kate has spent more time in the game and we don't know what Greta will achieve in her own time, so that's why I said it's unfair to compare.

It's one of those cult classic you'd be very sure you've seen, but deeping it you'd realise you have probably missed it. I got it in the era of "20 in 1 DVD" circa era, started it but i didn't finish, but i somehow never got around to completing it.

Zack Snyder mined a vast array of comic book history to build his vision of this character that transcends science, myth, religion, physical and philosophical reasoning. This version has never been depicted elsewhere before, as the character has always been grounded in the mist of Sci-Fi, but here he's enacted in the most relatable way ever, with a brilliant first contact story whilst not losing any of it's rich flavor that has made the character the darling of CB and CBM fandom. This was the first of a 5 film arc that Snyder was contracted to make, and oh boy what a start it was!

The Superman story have the highest morality meter in the DC universe and stories about it are the strongest to show the complexity of this morality. The title "Man of Steel" is deliberate, to show the Steel of the Character, As he is near infallible and impenetrable but also living out the human experience with "Steel" in the context of been tried and tested on the human emotions and physical strength cleverly depicting Clark Kent/Kal El going through it all and coming out a Blacksmith steel after going through the fire and coming out the outside a finished product.

Henry Cavill shines as Superman, a top tier casting and probably one of the best in CBM history, he embodied the role to the smallest details, He refused to take steroids to get "buff" for the role, and instead went the Natural way. It's such a shame how it all went after the movie. Micheal Shannon as Zod is a match made in Krypton, totally killed the role. The other supporting cast also gave a good account of themselves.

The writing is near perfect. The critics were on about it been "too dark" and no character development which i totally disagree with. The darker tone was a concept to properly tell the narrative, i mean how is Kal El supposed to bring Hope if the world ain't dark? and there was a character development for Kal El and Zod. My major criticism was probably what Supes did to General Zod at the end, so so off brand.

The cinematography was top notch, there was an overuse of CGI at some point but it's forgivable.

I probably have Zack Snyder bias but all things considered, this is peak CBM, and this man deserves his chance once again to tell his story and share his vision.

7/10: B-

I'm not into the SOUND recording specific side but I have an idea of how they do it.


The mics and everything is connected to a SOUND MIXER. The SOUND MIXER takes in ALL the sound/Mics from your equipments be it mic for performers or from musical instruments ie drums, piano etc. and mix All together to get your preferred sound. You can find tune the sounds directly from the MIXER also. They also use a receiver to get the sounds from the mics.
You'd need a sound engineer for that.

The video guy(s) will need to get a copy of the sound you recording in your studio from the sound engineer. Its smoother that way and clearer and of top quality compared to direct recording from the camera. Also eliminates picking up unwanted sounds like side talks, and background noise close to the camera.

So what the video guy(s) does is set up a Camera or cameras taking different angles/individuals depending on your setting and what you want to achieve.

I don't know which content creator is Fresh and Fit tho.

GOATED stuff.... Remains in my top 3 list of Greatest war movies of all time.

The tension and death in that movie ehn is next to none.

It's a tough ask tho.

Kathryn Bigelow is an OG director with her movies and an Academy Award winner. The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty really puts her up there even against her male counterparts.
But it's been years since she released her last movie and ain't much heard from her since 2017.

On the other hand, Greta is a new breed director with a high ceiling and potential. She's had two of her films nominated for Best Picture Oscars and a Best Director nom.
Greta is up and coming with just two movies on her belt which were awards worthy. She definitely has time on her side and the pedigree to excel and well, break records and new ground. I just like her.

Kathryn style can tend to be a bit boring while watching for an extended time and at the beginning, but she has great stories and third acts. Greta for me is engaging right from the start. She focuses on her characters more to drive the story while having good devt.

Both are very good at their craft. I have a bias for Greta and would pick her as my preferred of the two. But I won't say who I feel is better.
I guess you can use the Awards as the differentiator.


The most appropriate like for like comparison would be for Jane Campion vs Kathryn Bigelow since both have similar age and Awards acclaim.
For Greta Gerwig, her most likely match would be Emerald Fennel or Chloe Zhao based on age, quality, critics acclaim and career length/ experience.
