President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has today met with with the Group Managing Director of UTM FLNG Ltd, Mr Julius Rone and his team members which includes , Ms Emmanuelle Blatmann, The Ambassador of France to Nigeria, Ms Hiromi Otuski Deputy Ambassador for Japan to Nigeria, Mr Naoki Noguchi, MD JGC, Mr Sadeeq Mai Bornu GMD of UTM, Mr Julius Rone, MD of Japan Gas Company and Senior VP of Technip who presented the prototype of Nigeria’s first ever Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) at the State House.

A lot of Nigerian offshore gas are been flared. With Floating LNG system, it gives Nigeria the opportunity to liquify gas directly offshore (on the sea) without having to spend more money to compress and pipe the gas back to land for further liquefaction. This option reduces overall investment for Nigeria LNG projects. It allows Nigeria to further monetize its offshore gas, rather than flaring to the atmosphere.

Kudos to the government for this
