seankafor:Basically bakassi boys all over again. This is also what I was referring to when I said soludo is not a thug. To take these guys on, he will have to emnpower his own set of thugs. And you cannot predict where it will go - or rather from history, you can. They will become a law unto themselves and the cycle will continue maybe with moderation, but it will continue. |

izzou:have you gone to Owerri through Onitsha? that road alone had more than 5 military stopover infact people use to come down at some section and used their legs to walk a distance of 200m before they get back into their cars or vehicle you can call anyone and confirmed this. I don't live in the zone but I visited recently so I know what I am saying and I toured round the region before I left. From onitsha to awka used to have more than 5 police check points maybe it has been dismantled due to the insurgency type of attack but it makes it fluid for them to come out on the road and go back without the attackers knowing their location. The same with all the other states. I ask again how can hooligans lay students and teachers on the ground and have the time to flog them in a city the governor has been shouting and mandating people to subvert the sit at home. If na you you go gree come out another time? |

Everyone's point on this ipob issue is valid. The igbo elite must start speaking out publicly against ipob, I'm looking at Obi here because I know that on his part this would be a very difficult thing to do seeing as this would be a highly divisive issue to his strongest base. It would be a very huge sacrifice on his part but one which he must do. No more time for mollycoddling of this terrorist group. They started very well actually but veered completely offtrack very fast. Then, the temporal tinubu-led federal government must initiate security operations in the south east to root out these criminals. Also stop detaining nnamdi kanu illegally. Put him through the court process and establish your solid case of domestic terrorism which should sentence him to death for genocide against the igbo people and smuggling of arms into the country. this is after you have extradited Simon ekpa too and do the same. Make the process as transparent as it can ever be for there to be no single doubt as to his crimes. If tinubu was wise, he would offer the carrot to the region and speak to them personally, not like buhari who failed thoroughly in his approach and formented the further justified anger at the nigerian federal government. Under Obasanjo, southeast was calm, under yaradua, southeast was calm, under Jonathan, South East was calm. Buhari's docility and indolence towards the region is what let the people dear protest against him. He failed the few of us from there who actually thought he would be a firm and fair leader. Tinubu must not repeat this. |

Ellexy: .Uzodimma has tried with some capital projects but he doesn't want to give in to chance so he needed the insecurity to confirm his return status. As long as sit at home persists and PBAT still at the helms of affair, if Uzodimma win with anything less than 60% of the entire votes just know he conducted "free and fair election". He needed this insecurity badly to be able achieve his ulterior motive. Infact he was the one that told Buhari to leave the whole matter that he can handle it. that is why Buhari felt less concerned. |

But when Buhari said he wanted to treat Biafra claiming UGM in the language they understand, some of yall on this very thread were calling him insensitive, genocidal, etc. But now you want Tinubu' to send in the army and the airforce ![]() Ruling Nigeria is an impossible job |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 11:51pm On Jul 05, 2023 |
nihilistjnr:He referenced the civil war, then spoke about unknown gun men. The civil war is seen till this day by many, especially people from the SE as a pogrom. That tweet was at best poorly worded or very probably sinister. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Olowunl01: 11:53pm On Jul 05, 2023 |
raumdeuter:Chairman these elite and leaders no get armoury for yard like you naa; these guys almost killed a Senator, decapitated HoA member; killed lots of traditional rulers and with their showing today you still expect any person to speak up? We have a commander in chief, same way we blamed Jonathan during Boko haram, Tinubu deserves the blame if he fails to act decisively. If I were him I would release Nnamdi Kanu to the British back to the UK to answer terroism charges, this gives him some goodwill in SE to withstand any fallout from military intervention (cos much as I hate saying anything against military, sometimes they overdo ) whilst at same time giving marching orders to the new security chiefs to root out this nonsense. Doing Nothing is not an option, waiting for delegation from SE before doing something is also doing nothing. |

Theflint1:Are Ipob and ESN referencing a church program when they go to schools to beat up students during sit qt home? The tanks and jets yall niggas are asking to come and bomb parts of the south east now are not poorly worded or probably sinister either. Mehn let everybody enjoy it. If you backed Twitter banning Buhari for threatening to deal with an insurgency in a language they will understand, then enjoy the polite chatter as biafran separatists trying to start a civil war kill your kinfolk indiscriminately, cripple your economy and flog your children and wives under the banner of stay at home. You can't have it both ways |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 12:16am On Jul 06, 2023 |
nihilistjnr:It's not an either-or thing, the president can communicate his intentions properly while doing the job of ridding the South East of violent separatists. You can't be the president that promised 97-5% treatment and at the same time be the one communicating your intentions ambiguously to the 5%ers. IPOB terrorizes the SE today for many reasons but the primary reason still remains a Buhari, who was an inefficient C-in-C. |

GloriousGbola:If we want to use the size of a snake to arrange its fire, we will burn the house. Nobody is saying decisive action shouldn't be taken, just do it so it would result in pockets of crises elsewhere which may lead to largescale one. We saw how some politicians tried to hijack endsars and destroy Lagos, peddling lies to fan the embers of discord among the people. |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 12:31am On Jul 06, 2023 |
raumdeuter:I only said he should have done his job properly, his failure to do his job properly makes him responsible for the situation in the South East today, to what extent, that can be argued. It's funny you're so eager to absolve a former president of responsibility for the security situation of a country he presided over less then 2 months ago, and suggesting the current C-in-C should stand hands akimbo while insecurity ravages certain parts of the country, yet you didn't waste time to blame Jonathan for Boko Haram, going as far as accusing him of being the sponsor of Boko Haram. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 12:36am On Jul 06, 2023 |
Theflint1:When Buhari said he would deal with UGM in the language they understood How was that message received by the same people who UGM was killing? So Tinubu should go ahead and do the same thing so they can find who to blame again They have Governors who are CSO of their states, Let them start from there. They collect security votes monthly abi? Let them surrender their security votes and come out to say they have no clue on what to do |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 12:39am On Jul 06, 2023 |
airmark:Most people know what will happen the moment Tinubu deploys soldiers with or without consultation but they just want another person to hang the blame on UGM was killing people the elites kept quiet, Buhari said he would treat all agitators in the language the understood, That became the main problem of the elites who kept quiet all the while. Not even the UGM killing but Buharis speech became the problem and they tagged US govt, embassies, UN everyone till the account got suspended by twitter |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Roland17(m): 12:51am On Jul 06, 2023 |
raumdeuter:And to you, this is a reasonable excuse for the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to allow a territory to burn and remain under siege under his watch? Account getting suspended by freaking Twitter, getting tagged is more important than the life and properties of Nigerians whom you are constitutionally responsible for? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by airmark(m): 12:57am On Jul 06, 2023 |
Agadinaagwuofe:Waiting for this all along. Maybe that's why the former governors were useless as the CSO of their states, and allowed the miscreants to grow wings. It is well. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by airmark(m): 1:02am On Jul 06, 2023 |
raumdeuter:Tinubu won't be foolish not to do needed consultation before acting. He can't fall for the antics, that can cause problems nationwide. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 1:03am On Jul 06, 2023 |
Roland17:It's under the watch of the state governors as well and they are the chief security officer collecting security votes. It was the excuse of Buhari speech that they gave for the current escalation So the next president has to be careful so that another escalation beyond the current one doesn't come from any FG intervention |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Roland17(m): 1:11am On Jul 06, 2023 |
raumdeuter:I ask you again, indemnifying and excusing the indifference by the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces because of Twitter and propaganda is more important and a greater cause than an entire region being under siege? At this point, you are advocating for the SE to be left to burn to the ground because you want to indemnify Asiwaju’s presidency! |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by airmark(m): 1:17am On Jul 06, 2023 |
Tinubu should do the needful before entering the trap set. Buhari was told to fvck off, when he wasn't even declaring state of emergency. Let Ohaneze join the call for it now by going to Abuja to meet Tinubu, and publicly declare.
|
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 1:18am On Jul 06, 2023 |
Roland17:It's respecting the federal structure we have currently which is that state governors are the first line of responsibility before it goes to FG. Everything cannot be stopping at Abuja all the time. There is a reason. Why we have state governors Like someone said Wike didn't wait for Buhari to handle issues if the SE governors can't do it then they should openly ask for FG support and openly take ownership for whatever fallout comes out of it In recent past we have seen State govs not securing their states, FG steps in then these local politicians put all the blame on FG We need to learn from the past on how to handle this so it's a joint effort of local and federal |
