Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu
Signs Executive Orders To Ease Tax Burden on Businesses

Special adviser to the president on Special duties, communications and startegy Dele Alake, briefed the media on the following:

To address concerns raised by manufacturers and other stakeholders regarding recent tax changes, President Bola Tinubu has signed 4 executive orders:

1 - The Finance Act Order, 2023, which defers the commencement date of the changes contained in the Act from May 23, 2023, to September 1, 2023.

2 - Customs Excise Tariff Amendment Order, 2023, shifts the commencement date of tax changes from March 27, 2023, to August 1, 2023.

3 - Suspension of the 5% Excise Tax on telecommunication services and excise duty on locally produced produts.

4 - Suspension of the newly introduced Green Tax on Single Use Plastics and the Import Tax Adjustment levy on certain vehicles.

Nigeria has the highest GDP in Africa, richest country in Africa. That opens ground for further growth. Let's embrace each other. What united us is more than what separates us. We've married interethnically. I can't count number of my Yoruba people that married Igbo including Governor of my state. Nothing can separate us as neighbors, at least. Stylishly bringing back Excise tax on Telecoms and other sectors which were initially exempted by announcing a suspension and deferring it till September when they weren't included in the list in the first place lol

Why did he put the heavy tax that would put heavy burden on poor Nigerians after removing subsidy? Was he high on meth or his drug baron mentality of maximum profit in all sitiations took better of him? Grab as much as possible regardless the number of souls that perishes - that's what drug business is all about and bringing that into politics will destroy millions of lives
