(Rhetorical)
Although the topic discussed is Matured , but the maturity of every well thought comments , well I believe this was way before The Nigerian teenagers started using the Internet .

Plus the points made by the OP 14years ago and the comments followed means something is terribly wrong with the average populace and we don't know it , or we do kmow it and defensively decide to endure idk sad Anger, acceptance are emotions to be expected from this 14year old thread.

They were even insistent on creating mass protest . They seemed to know what they want ........what there rights are ?
I really don't know what happened 14 years ago till now . But something sure did change. We (the average Nigerian) are clearly not the same Nigerians as 20- 15 years ago , its heart rending genuinely

If you think about it APC also contributed in introducing the politics of hate, insults and division in the last ten years. PDP was corrupt but they were never divisive or insulted us at every opportunity.

As an opposition they capitalised on PDPs failures and sponsored hate and used same rhetorics from Lai Mohammed lying and tacitly celebrating every boko haram attack to the media propaganda, etc.

For example, the only reason any president would have removed subsidy without a backlash is because the opposition are reasonable and didn't try to sponsor NLC.

APC as an opposition were unreasonable and used every means just to seize power. Even in power they are still unreasonable and are using every means to retain it.

APC and the yorubas created tribalism and religion on this forum ... the moment the brother became VP... they started insulting and throwing jibes at the Igbos , saying their druggie kicked their support out of asorock and when that buffoon from sudan said 5% don't deserve any help from his government... the yorubas capitalised on it and started to insult the igbos ... when the igbos campaigned for Atiku and obi ...that was when that evil tribe started attacking the igbos

But I want the yorubas to know one thing... life na turn by turn... an Igbo man will rule Nigeria, at most in 16yrs time .. and an Igbo man will be vice in the next 8 yrs at worst ... then the yorubas will not smell power for the next 40yrs after this regime cos north will take 8 yrs , then Igboman will take his 8yrs , then north will take another 8 years, then Ijaw will take their 8 yrs , then north will take another 8 years ...that will total 40yrs of no presidency or VP for these tribal bigots ... b4 then ur lord druggie that deceived u fools would have been dead and gone ...na una tribe go suffer for what u are doing now .... 40yrs without government, ur tribe would be begging to feed

I'm beginning to believe the increase of poverty, government neglect, self loathe led to the "Nigerians" we have now , a sort of evolution but not a very good one
Well on the bright side it means 14 years from now things would change drastically again maybe for the better maybe for the worse but definitely a change

typed from New York. Why has he no come to lead the protesthuh The average Nigerian knows those fighting govt are also fighting for their own pockets. People like Oshiomole, Keyamo, shehu sani, Abati amd majority of the guys in Nadeco fought the government. Fooled people till they became messiah like characters and got into government. They were worse than those they met. We also have people like omojuwa, adeyanju, yesufu, Sowore, Nmamdi Kanu, end sars key people etc who used activism to cash out or build their online brand for influencer work. You want the average Nigerian to go fight when he knows his fellow organizers may betray or sell him out. The joke is on you hahahah

14 years ago, the people most likely to be on the internet were Nigerians living abroad, and also Nigerian academics, and so forth.

There was no home internet in most parts, and getting internet on your phone was a rare thing. The best way to go online was to visit a cafe, and it was only available in the cities, not in the villages.

Now, we have home internet, internet cafes are for registration, and everyone has a voice.

Not everyone had Internet access then. Students and workers used laptops to browse mostly.

Apart from that, there was more unity then. Unfortunately, times have changed so drastically with so much bitterness and anger everywhere.

NL was a good place to learn and discuss sensibly back then. There was a platform to help truly distressed people which most of us keyed in to happily. Members actually visited such people and rendered help on behalf of the group. It's not possible now with the current legion of beggars online.

Beautiful years gone by.

I was reading your submission until I read the emboldened. No one who believes Buhari is a clone from Sudan should ever be taken seriously. I'm sure you're also one of the f00ls who supported your sister the JAMB fraudster. Tueh!
