Rivers State Unveils Fuel Subsidy Intervention Buses.

The buses were commissioned by Governor Siminalayi Fubara, represented by his deputy, Mrs Ngozi Nma Odu.

Rivers State Commissioner for transport, Dr. Jacobson Nbina said the Palliative bus is totally free and It will run for three years.

Where is the subsidy palliative that Tinubu promised Nigerians ?

Free ke! Shey government will be able to run it effectively for the whole 3 years? The vision should be running it beyond 3 years and shouldn't be free. It should be run at a subsidize rate to lessen the burden on the government.

For a state like Rivers, anything less than 500 of these buses is a joke.

With their population, demographics, and pocket. 500 of these and a thousand of the smaller 18-seaters should be their minimum target.

This is a nice idea yet not sustainable.

When will Tinubu roll out his own?

This is one step forward and Ten steps backward.
This is aimed at putting those whose source of livelihood is on the road out of business. It is a waste of scarce resources to buy bus and ask for no payment in return. This will encourage aimless movements. Attaching a little payment to it will discourage those who have got no business leaving their home from doing so. The bus services will be abused by people who just want to move about.
Not even in Freetown is there a free lunch.

In as much as this is welcome development I will encourage my fellow portharcourt people to try bath and spray perfume or even if na air freshener self because I no wan suffocate with some people strong body odour especially people plying my route Aba road..

Bornu state Governor started this initiative. Same happening in Kaduna, Jigawa, Sokoto, Yobe states.

This has been going on in Lagos and Oyo state since before Elections.

Infact the buses were free in Ibadan during the Elections.
