So recently, I have been trying to get another apartment, as my current area has been battling power issues for like 6months.

My wife just put to bed and I had to ask her to stay with my parents for now, while I look to get another apartment where light is good. Mind you, I spend almost 10k per week on fuel before the new price, now I'm spending like 25-30k. Despite the fact that I only put the gen on when I return from work.


Now, back to the agents.

I got one woman agent through a church member, I met with her during the week, and after taking me round Ibadan for almost 3hrs, we were only able to see one tattered looking house. Meanwhile, I paid her 2k plus 1k to another person she took along, just for inspection.

Throughout our wakabout, she kept on making calls asking for houses, I was already getting pissed off.

After each call, she will be like "sir, they said there's one new 3bdrm flat, pop and tiles all through, rent is 350, total package 600k".

I will then ask, why will I pay 350 for a house and then pay extra 250 to agents?

It got to a point I got pissed off, dropped her off and went my way.

She has been calling since then, quoting crazy agent fees.

These people are getting more money than the house owners sef.

I had to ask, don't you want normal people to rent house?

Abeg, is it the same everywhere or it's these Ibadan and Lagos agents that are like this?
I remember when I was staying in Lagos too, those ones can cut your head off.

She even told me about one house, she said the rent is 350, total package is 520. Meanwhile, another agent showed me the house earlier, saying rent is 400k.

That means they even add to the rent.

Asaba agents are not only demons they have upgraded to funds sucking vampires.

And they're always looking tattered n hungry,with stupid grey unkept moustache.

They add their own to the rentage and even collect fees n commission ontop,and they ve now included buying drinks to the list.

Infact salary earners are suffering In the hands of these guys. They prefer yahoo boys that will pay for a year and move out the following year because they can't service the rent, then get another yahooo boy..... They keep going on with the vicious cycle.

My brother hustle o, it's been a year plus 7 months now im enjoying my new house here in Lagos (2 bedroom flat) no more landlord sheet for me again
