In 1960 Nigeria population was 45million, that same year UK population was 52 million

2023 Nigeria population is above 220 million , that same UK is just above 65 million..

How are we going to live a better life when we are not even productive like the UK..

No, Nigeria's population figures have always been manipulated since the first census to favour the north. It's inflated. Nigeria is not up to 200m. How did we jump to 200m from 80m in 1991 when Babangida had a census?

Population is a problem here. Don't compare it to China's case. For many decades China kept the one child policy until their economy and society improved. If they had not done that they would be like Nigeria too. Demographically, Nigeria is in trouble. Family sizes are too large here, hence the families have little or no savings to invest in things like housing, education and businesses.

In China the family size is small so they can invest. Nigeria needs to keep births per woman down. It's too high at 5.

Japan economy was ahead of china economy few years ago, but with good leadership china is now the second biggest economy in the world.
Soon china will be ahead of american economy.
China will become the biggest economy in the world.

For a country which is not productive, an explosive population is a recipe for disaster.

That is not true because if you have a good job here in Ilesa Nigeria you enjoy the same standard of living as someone in Tokyo. Many people in the village are over one hundred years old. The world is far more even than what you people think. Tokyo is organized with metros and etc but Ilesa is not big and does not need metrolines. Many Japanese would prefer to relocate to Ilesa while there are also Ilesa people that would like Tokyo. That is the way it is. Japan have farmers in the countryside too in rural areas, why do you think they are better off than Chinese farmers? They can't be better off. I can not imagine how they can be

Plus Nigeria have being #1 in Yam, #1 in Cassava in the world for over 100 year, we are also #1 in Kolanut (which brings like 2 million dollars annually) in the world, #1 in Rice in Africa, #1 in Cement in sub-saharan Africa. We also have the most dishes/cuisines in the world all originating in the Nigerian territory or it aboriginal ethnicities.
