For example....during the just concluded elections....Yorubas supported their son because he is capable and believe they shouldn't vote for a less qualified candidate when they have a qualified son on the ballot.

The northerners rallied their son too with the belief that only their son can protect their intests in the nation.

But igbos were saying we are not supporting Peter Obi because he is igbo but because he is competent and proceed to want to force ALL Nigerians to vote for him.

When the forum started it was the year 2005.

Back in those dark ages, there was nothing like home internet. Browsing for the majority was restricted to internet cafes which charged heavily for about 30 minutes of browsing. And they were.in the cities

So the Nigerian internet space was restricted to the highly educated and wealthy and people living abroad.

In 2008, home internet arrived. By 2010 one could browse from home and by 2013 many people had android or other phones with browsing capabilities

Result: influx of people into the site. And a fall in quality

The Americans were already seeing similar phenomena in their colleges when a downfall in internet commentary always coincided with an influx of new freshmen students. Most of whom in the pre AOL days had no home internet.

What you see is a bad side effect of internet for the masses. And since the internet was never going to be for the few forever, it was always going to happen
