Court Dismisses EFCC Suit Against Rochas Okorocha by fergie001(mod): 10:37am On Jul 14, 2023

A Federal Capital Territory High Court has dismissed the case against former governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The court described the EFCC’s charges of fraud and abuse of office as an abuse of judicial process.

The presiding judge, Justice Yusuf Halilu, premised his judgement on the fact that the EFCC had filed a similar charge against the former Imo State governor at the Federal high court, which case was decided upon in favour of the former governor in December last year.

Hoping that Nigeria will get better is just an illusion cheesy

This one has been let off the hook by the corrupt judge and he will be free to enjoy his loot.
It seems the judiciary is even working against EFCC, if not, why will they always set these politicians free even when EFCC provides an overwhelming evidence?
The judiciary is the biggest problem of this country.

Hmmmm.

How can’t they have their water tight cases I just one court and ensure proper prosecution? One wonders why they have different cases against one individual in different courts, making life difficult for themselves, the individuals, the court and the country.

Again it is surprising that even in the face of glaring evidences of treasury looting, politicians can get away and still position themselves for the next office.

When will Nigerians have elect good leaders and have some peace of mind please?

They steal and loot while in office, get arrested after leaving office amidst lots of media fanfare... Get charged to court for another round of formalities... Judge waits for the citizens with short memories to forget, then strikes the case out!
