I think I have asked this question before. At what point do we start punishing terrorists and criminals?

Or do we keep offering amnesty to each new generation and type of terrorist?

Nigerians themselves don’t love or care about Nigeria.

The country is doomed.

Let everybody just hustle for what they can take out of it.

I won't be surprised if amnesty for BK is considered. Shettima, as a governor, fought for it.

With the way things are going, the government may end up spending more on palliatives and related interventions to manage the post-subsidy removal period than what they'll spend on subsidizing petrol. The palliatives are just an avenue for the politicians to loot.

The solution to this issue is to fight corruption in the public sector, especially among the ruling class. I hope in a few years, many people won't be regretting this petrol subsidy removal policy by Buhari and Tinubu.

Unless the local refineries are fixed soon and power supply improves significantly across the country within the next couple of years, the petrol subsidy removal policy as hurriedly done by Tinubu won't be justified.

A better approach would have been to reduce cases of oil theft and other corrupt practices in the oil and gas sector and leave the subsidy as it's.

There's nothing bad if an oil-producing nation subsidizes petrol for its citizens if corruption can be reduced to the barest minimum since the refineries haven't been working mostly.

Without minimizing corruption in the sector, I don't see how removing subsidy will have any significant positive effect on the economy and Nigerians.

I'm sure a significant percentage of the funds (including loans) allocated for managing the post-subsidy removal period will still be looted by the politicians.

It's the same issue of embezzling public funds that'll make the whole petrol subsidy removal policy fail.

And the country will be back to square one, with the living conditions of people much worse.

I still dey vex say Tinubu wan share 8k to 12m Nigerians.

I dont know who's advising him on this particular intervention. Apart from the fact that the 8k is too meager, cash transfer is an avenue for few people to loot. We dont even have the institution that will safe guard against looting of this kind of funds. Cash transfer hasn't worked successfully before in the past, doubt it's going to work now.

Make our leaders dey try use their heads abeg.

Why would you send an army because of civil disobedience?

I gave an alternative which is to ensure economic development in the region like rebuilding federal roads and opening markets.

If you were genuine in your concern which I know you are not, this should be your first attraction to my comments.

I understand that some people just want to see military stretching themselves with easterners not necessarily ensuring peace. They just want to see people being subjugated rather than being set free.

Oga, any person with genuine interest in what's happening in the SE would not send the army as any possible solution. Sending the army will create more tension. Simple.

What kind of stick are you using for your amala?

Since yesterday, you told us Neglect and Poverty is what is causing the insecurity in SE. Your words, not mine.

So, show us how you came to that conclusion, knowing you as a man of facts/reports.
That was an opinion base of experiential observation. May be you have a contrary opinion, why not tell me instead of dancing azonto with my reports.

Thanks.

A simple move could have just been procuring large busses on cheap rates accross major cities.

If people know they can spend less on transportation, fuel subsidy removal won't affect much.

Many of us don't realise that most policies by government are political and selfish but dressed in the deceptive cloak of helping the poor.

Insecurity is the new cash cow in town.

The risks are minimal

Purchase AKs and use it to terrorize, rob and kidnap - You'll make profits

In times when business is dull, surrender to the government, and they'll offer cash and other rewards - Still making profits.

The process can be rinsed and repeated many times and any time

Lol.

The reports were gotten online. But the review was an opinion.

I used to think that the SE was more insecure than even NC until I started checking and found out that SE is even better than SW. SS is the most secured region.

Instead of you guys to pick on me, and my reports, I expected someone to blow off my mind with their own statistical analysis and reports.

We make too much noise on this thread.

My Yoruba friends calling for military takeover of SE are disappointed to find out that their own region is even more insecure and should also require military takeover based on their own suggestions.

I wasn't asking for love or do you lack comprehension too?

Everybody drops their opinion, but somehow you have to think others are typing because they want love.

If that isn't low self esteem, you probably never had any.

And if you think special fonts translate to a sensible post, it means you never even had sense.

For me, I am fully on your side, FG should look away, its simple civil disobedience

You do lack sense unfortunately.

Sit at home, like any other protest is called civil disobedience.

Civil disobedience, also called passive resistance, the refusal to obey the demands or commands of a government or occupying power, without resorting to violence or active measures of opposition; its usual purpose is to force concessions from the government or occupying power.

Makes sense. There are actually non-violent ways of beheading people and shooting them dead.
