Why I Want To Convert To Islam by Peledonomy: 12:47pm On Jul 16, 2023
I have been a church goer all my life. I have disliked Muslims and all other religions because that is what I was taught.

I started having some challenges two years ago. (financial)

I noticed that my church didn't help me. They kept saying I should sow more seed for a break through. I even got loans from loan apps to sow seeds. I became a chronic debtor because I felt I needed to really sacrifice to God for him to come rescue me.
My family members too were in the same church, so they encouraged me to keep sowing and praying.

Things got so bad that last year, I started going to other churches to ask for help. I remember trekking for a long distance to one popular church. I felt like with all I have been seeing on social media, they would definitely assist me.

These folks turned me to their member with the promise that I will be helped. They subjected me to their membership classes, baptism, school of ministry etc. After many months, still no help.

I used to do moi moi sometime ago before my problems started. There was one mallam I used to get beans from. He used to be very nice to me when I used to buy beans from him.

One day, I met him in a keke. He was happy to see me. He asked me why I stopped doing business and I told him it was a long story.

I was first to come down from the keke. The mallam surprised me and came down as well. He was really interested in hearing the "long story".

I told him everything that happened as we stood by the road side.

This is the same story that my church knew and did nothing about.

I remember seeing the mallam almost cry. He told me the challenge was bigger than him that I should follow him to the mosque on Friday. I laughed at him and told him that was not going to happen.

He said he was not asking me to convert. He just wanted to assist me.

After much persuasion, I followed him. I waited some where for them to be done with their prayers. After that, he called me and introduced me to some other Muslims.

They spoke in hausa for about 5 minutes. I could not understand anything they said cos I'm not hausa.

Some minutes later, one of them went in and came out with an envelope and handed it to the mallam that took me there.

The mallam handed it to me. I opened it and saw money. I turned again to look at their faces. "I did not ask for this" I said.

The mallam told me I should count the money. He explained that he would be silly to see the challenge I was facing and do nothing about it.

I remember tears trickling down my cheeks. I knelt down before them to thank them, but they lifted me up. I don't remember ever feeling so broken.

To be honest, I had always disliked Muslims because of boko haram, Al qaeda etc. But at that moment I became vulnerable. I threw away my initial bias.

As I counted the money, it was only 70k. It was very little compared to the issue I was facing, but it felt like a million to me.

The mallam told me to feel free to reach out to him if I needed someone to talk to.

From that day, the mallam took my well being as his personal duty. Even his fellow Muslims. Its been a year now, and I feel I should ditch Christianity.

Do you know that they have not even cared to find out how I am doing. They have not even found out if my issue has been solved.

Look I know everyone in the church has issues. But are you also telling me these Muslims that gave me money don't have issues?

This week Friday, I will visit a mosque. I am nervous, I don't know what to expect.

I am converting because the seed wey I sow for church never germinate. God has not seen it.
But Muslims didn't wait for me to sow any seed. They offered help without my begging.

Is that not how God should be?

Lol.. nice story... But are you converting to Islam because of financial help Or are you looking for an avenue where when you are in problem people will gather money and help you
You are free to convert to any religion...
But do it because of your religious belief not because of financial gain....

Lucky you!

I am a convert also, and I am not regretting it.

Their is a reason why Islam is the fastest growing religion, and it’s all because of the truth, purity, discipline and righteousness in it.

Your purpose is not ideal, what happened when you need help in the future and the people that surrounds you are stingy Muslims.
It's not bad visiting a mosque, but your purpose shouldn't be for straight conversion..

Take your time, Learn more about the religion and its perception of the Almighty then if God wills, your purpose can be corrected

In addition, Islam does not preach worldly prosperity so going for with your current thoughts, you may soon be disappointed.

But if you are able to study about the religion, look beyond the mass stereotypes then God willing, you will be able to meet the Almighty without any blemish

Even if nobody helps you or you lose Everything you Have, Do not lose your faith in JESUS Christ.
The moment you walk away from JESUS Christ, it does not matter what you gain on Earth, You have lost the needful. And of you Depart without JESUS Christ, you Have Wasted your Life.
It is straight to Hell fire forever and ever.

Welcome brother! Allah akbar. We're currently designing your bomb jacket for you. Inshallah, you'll be the one to execute our next mission. Welcome brother!

***

Don't mind my cruise grin
You see my friend, always do what favours you the most. The same people that'll criticize your move are the same people that will refuse to help you. Do your thing!
Just look at how large our planet is, and even how larger our solar system is, let alone our bloodÿ gigantic galaxy. Just forget our almighty gigantum gigagangus universe and the possibility of other universes, and there's just a handful of people that truly care about you.

Don't mind anyone. Do your thing. Forget about hell or heaven, God made you to survive.

Perhaps I should let you know that your Muslim brothers would want you with them for their own selfish interest which may have something to do with expanding their empire, but who cares? Man must survive first right? So, do your thing. Good luck!

The Mallam was only a very good and generous man
Thousands of Muslems won't give a hoot about your predicament too....Infact millions( I'm a Muslem)

Then boom, you can just come across an atheist that would render all your assistance to you and won't expect anything in return

Religion and generosity is two different words

Between I wish you well

Is that not how God should be?

Let me organize what you're saying a little:

•You hate(d) Muslim because of their violent sect
•You (probably) hate(d) Christians because of their stingy/hypocritic sect

Now, you love Muslims because of the generosity in them (that some of the Christians lack)
I think it is also wise to love Christians for the peace in them (that some of the Muslims lack)

By the way, there are generous Christians, like in my Church where the pastor dishes out money to the needy members, or maybe a wider example like T.B Joshua's Church (not like I believe in the man sha).
Then there are Muslims who are not generous at all, like maybe the stories of Muslim bike-riders in Lagos that will stab you with a poisoned dagger over a little money (please I don't believe this 100%, it's just an illustration).

So in summary... Everything is balanced, if you're going to become a Muslim, at least look for another reason.
If you're going to continue as a Christian, locate a good church
(Personally, I recommend God's Lighthouse. They're online, listen to messages and get knowledge. No need to offering and all those related money-giving areas)

I think it's more of a northern thing than muslim. My observation is that the average northerner is more contented and helpful than the average southerner. Another factor is that a lot of christians in Nigeria are not true christians, they are religious for one reason, benefit or the other. The number of churches in Nigerian society is proof of it. You will find true christians mostly in developed countries, where people go to church not for miracles, prophecy or financial problems, but because they want to worship God.

If you sow a seed in an infertile ground, how do you expect it to germinate?

Transgender people don't require you convert because they helped you since it isn't a religion or a club.

Please define Religion. Do you think religion only refers to church, mosques and the likes? Are you aware that there is religion in Fashion, Profession, Academia, Community and whatever can attract followership? People just use the word without a wholistic understanding.
by the way, you failed to see the punchline. Transgender people are all "converted" will he "convert" too?
No more replies, Enjoy your week (if you like).

Here are 3 meanings of religion:

1. the belief in and worship of a superhuman power or powers, especially a God or gods.

2. a particular system of faith and worship.

3. a pursuit or interest followed with great devotion.

Which of these describes transgender as being a religion?

People like you just like to skew things just so you can discriminate against others. What a shame.

I will enjoy my week, thank you. My hope is this week you reconsider the hate you are harbouring in your mind.
