😂 😆 😂 😆 😂 😆 😂 😆 😂 😆 at Western Things.

If I don't know of any other place, I know that American men & women embrace housewifery more than the average Nigerian.

And it is not a 'punishment' or 'potential limiting action' as it is seen here.
that's where our girls are learning the nonsense from.

Most now think it's slavery or some kind of demeaning task to be a housewife
Re: Can You Be A Full-time Housewife? by Worriedwife: 7:40pm On Jul 16, 2023
Yes I can. I am a fulltime housewife. It is not easy taking care of twin boys under 1 and an older boy.

The traditional notion of housewife doesn't exist anymore. All the so called "house wives" now own different small and micro businesses, thanks to globalisation, WhatsApp business, IG, remote work, etc. Of course, many of them spend more time at home with their family (abi where else should they be? Sambisa?). The conceptualisation of "housewives" as people who sit at home and do nothing else apart from cooking or laundry only exists in you people's heads. In reality, they don't exist. So you people should quit the intentional and "every 4 market day" derogatory threads.
It does exist.

Some men ask their wives to become full-time housewives after marriage. However, if you are not interested in being a full-time housewife, it is important to emphasize this to your partner before marriage. This is one of the factors that create problems in a marriage.
If I get money like Elumelu or 1/100 of what Dangote have ,my wife won't work , all I need to do is Open businesses she will control from home or visit the business once in awhile
Re: Can You Be A Full-time Housewife? by Chizzychinny: 9:30pm On Jul 16, 2023
I can not. Full time housewife is full time suffering.

There's no room for idleness in my house.

Work is the real-deal.
work is not limited to cooking, sweeping, washing, if you marry a doctor, of course she will be working, in the hospital not tied down to your house to be doing chores

You know any married woman in that category? Many are out of job because of the situation of the country. The few "housewives" I have met, they are either looking for a job or trying to figure out a business.

😂Mr statistician, so you concluded that full housewives don't exist anymore based on the few housewives you had a personal encounter with.
Re: Can You Be A Full-time Housewife? by 1Sharon(f):
Didn't go to school just to be a housewife.

Women that want this for themselves because they're lazy, take note that housewives are more vulnerable to abuse because they are completely dependent on their man.

Contribute something to your home, even if it's just 10% !

Not even for the man or marriage but for myself and my esteem. Nothing beats being able to afford your need yourself without waiting for stipends from your husband.
Whenever you have issues, your stipends may most likely hang.
Even in his absence, you can steer the home financially before he returns. It's a flex abeg.
Exactly. Women that are too dependent on men are the ones that are beaten up and prone to abuse.

Do something. Don't let any man do shakara for you.

Beyond personal encounters, the traditional notion of housewife differs completely from the definition and examples I have seen so far on this thread. lipsrsealed

I know MANY.

And those women there are broke housewives.

There are housewives and there are HOUSEWIVES. They were never housewives in the first place if they have to look for a job or a business. Maybe, just circumstantial issues made them stayed at home.

So, yes, the traditional sense of a housewife still exists. A whole lot even.

It's so strange for you to think that HOUSEWIVES are lazy. Pray tell me, please. Do you think the role of a housewife is just sitting down at home and watching zeeworld? I just want to understand your submission about how you view this "housewife" concept.

When I say work, it simply means that my wife will have something doing, either pursuing her career, or a professional work she does, she can't be limited to house chores and baby sitting.

I love it when people aspire for something great in life, and I encourage them to achieve success. So I'll also do thesame for my wife, but family first before any other thing, but if she put work first b4 family then she will have problem with me .

It's real simple.

No I don't. I know that housework is a job in itself.

I said "women who want that because they are lazy" they don't realise being a housewife is a job too.

They just need to realise what they're setting themselves up for before venturing into that role.
