In that probability that the SC upholds the 25% it will automatically nullify the elections unless they also disqualify Tinubu. Which will now hand power to either Atiku or Obi.

Unless you want to tell me it is certain that the SC won't consider the 25% in FCT. That certainty was not reflected in your comment. (See the bolded)

You mean all a candidate needs to do is win FCT regardless of how he does in other states

It's like saying whoever wins Awka automatically becomes governor of Anambra or if you don't get 25% in Awka you cannot be governor regardless of how you do in other LGAs across the state even if you win other LGAs by a landslide

No constitution said that and that will be a silly thing to suggest but no be today

They have released the update to gtb world again. We can login now. But my guy complains that everything has been reset. I haven't tried yet so I can't tell.


So I just tried and all my beneficiaries are still intact - however the app is slow. Definitely has lag. And it does not log you out after inactivity - it just locks.

They are. Problem is the app wants to access your contacts for whatever reason. Once it has done this you can filter. I will check and see if I can revoke contacts access. It is a nuisance

Click on account transfer and they will appear. DO NOT ALLOW contacts access and if you have revoke it. It will make payments a nuisance as you will be struggling to filter. I have maybe 200 to 300 contacts and max 40 beneficiaries. Why would I want to be seeing all their numbers?

The constitution did not say if you won just FCT you have won the election. It says to be declared winner, the candidate has to secure 25% votes in 24 states and also 25% in the FCT. That's the literal interpretation of the constitution.

Your argument is that FCT is not important as it cannot be given a higher status than other states. This premise is on the idea that all votes are equal and equivalent.

My argument is premised on the idea that all votes are equal but not equivalent. How? The requirement for spread. If all votes are equivalent then there would be no need for spread. A simple majority should suffice. 25% in Bayelsa for example is less than 100k votes whereas 25% in Kano is over 1million votes. Hence 100k in Bayelsa ~ 1m in Kano.

The same principle applies to 25% in FCT. It is equivalent to 25% in 24 states following the same logic. That's what I see it means. I didn't put it there, I am just interpreting what's there.

If we want to remove the 25% clause in FCT to win an election, we should equally remove the 25% in 24 states.
