Are you serious abi na just arsenal's fans hype?

I've been hearing how Sancho have been destroying academy youth teams since his Man city days(him and B.Diaz). I'm not sure I heard Nelson name with same weight oo except as just one of the budding young arsenal youngsters coming through
personally I think nelson get better ball sense than Sancho, Sancho was opportune to get enough play time and exposure with the Dortmund team and deep down y'all know you can't compare German league to EPL, but then nelson once had a spell there too but na injury kill am. That boy na baller, he just need coach and follow players confidence and enough game time with less injury to move mountains.

Ps= this is my personal opinion.

Sancho and Nelson grew up together but because of the way age football is structured they rarely played in the same age group for England.

Nelson was probably the best in his set but it was not a loaded set. Sancho was probably the best in a loaded set with Foden, Hudson-Odoi, Angel Gomes, Smith-Rowe, Connor Gallagher, Gibbs-White.

Who was better between the 2 of them is subjective but in my opinion Sancho was.

P.S IMO speed and acceleration are the 2 things CHO and Nelson had more than Sancho, in terms of ball manipulation, decision making and ball sense i think he (Sancho) was clear. The one that injury really wrecked was CHO. That Achelles tendon rupture totally changed the trajectory of his career and it is a known career finsher.

Me I just see Nelson and Sancho as basic after age English players whose nationality has helped this far .

I believe Foden is more talented and shows it on the pitch than the aforementioned duo.

We are talking about their talent when they were in the academy. What we are seeing now is the culmination of not just talent but hard work, discipline, good fortune with club and with injuries.

Sancho was as highly rated if not more rated than Foden in the youth team. I saw them play for both Man City and England and they were at par. Talent alone however is not enough. For example people were wondering what happened to Cassano until we found out he was always partying and ordering food in hotels at Madrid. Then there was Anderson whose diet was made up almost purely of fast food.

Bad habits usually catch up with players sooner or later. Look at Dele Alli or someone like Dembele whose talent is Ballon d’Or contender level but is known to stay awake all night playing video games thereby missing his rest and the next day he does not go to train thereby missing his training.

Greenwood is the only English player whose natural talent i think is far above the rest. He was the only one whose ability could overcome the lack of structure at United during Ole’s reign. Put Foden there with his limited physical attributes and he too would have struggled. Saka is another one that might have overcome the lack of structure. Both have physical and technical gifts in abundance.

Maybe its an illusion for me sha, but those guys on their left foot like Saka, Foden and Greenwood just seem to be more technically gifted than the right footers like Sancho, Nelson and co.

I get ur point about the bad habits catching with those players, but then I think money plays a part in all of this. Those guys are exposed to so much money at such a tender age due to their talent. It's usually difficult not to pick a bad habit along the way . I don't even trust myself if I was exposed to such amount of money at a tender age. Imagine Saka just stopped living with his parent like two seasons ago despite being a millionaire in pounds. If na me, area for don scatter since I went professional o grin

You are taking about maturity. That is another big part. Some people will only mature by 25-27 and by that time it is too late. Some will never mature.

Then some people’s domestic life and mental health for instance is so terrible they get derailed.
A case like Ravel Morrison. When I watched him in the academy he was better than Pogba IMO while Lingard was not even in the same planet with those two.
Ferguson told the 1st team that he was the best youth player since Giggs. Rooney wrote an article saying the guy was miles better than Pogba. Rio said he was the best youth player he had ever seen.
Sadly, the guy could not even make it in the premier league while Lingard who could not shine his shoes became an England international and Pogba who was probably slightly less talented became a superstar.

Nice input. Truly appreciated.

I never really thought Nelson was that talented in academy ooo. In fact, I find it absurd when people compare him to Saka in terms of talent.

I guess I was wrong about his talents then embarassed

I've read alot about Ravel Morrison.
The hype about the potential was so great in the academy. It's just so sad to see him never to make it through the academy because of his indiscipline and arrogance

The guy was sort of an enforcer for a street gang while playing youth football.
Rio said the guy used to embarrass senior players in training and they used to go and watch the guy train when he was 14-16. I watched them quite closely and Pogba was at best equal to him. Most people that watched them together said Ravel was better. He was the 10 and Pogba was the 8.

I doubt there's even difference between Havertz experience and Kvara "own". Havertz wey I dey watch for Chelsea still deh like newbie for EPL:

Falling all over the place
Losing possession easily
Can't hustle for ball.

And it's been 3 years oo!!

Omorr, the only benefit of doubt I'm giving Havertz is that he's an arsenal player now and I just hope he proves me wrong and succeed here
Havertz will never prove you wrong insha allah
