1) Input 3 wrong trials for your SIM PIN. Make sure it enters the PUK lock

2) Get another phone and call the customer care of the blocked sim.

3) Follow those nonsense prompts till you get to the option where it offers to help with PIN and PUK issues

4) Select the PUK retrieval option.

5) It will ask for the phone number. Input the number of the blocked SIM

6) It would ask for the serial number of the SIM.
Take away the SIM, and input the number at the back (I think they are 11 or so)

7) The stupid prompt will give you the PUK for free

8 ) Go back to the blocked sim and input that PUK, and you have opened it.

Like I said, the only advantage is that the thief may not have your phone number.

I hope with these few points of mine, i have been able to convince and not confuse you that SIM lock is almost useless.
