I believe it's social media.
Back in the day, the only way to cheat was to hookup with someone from work or school on the gym or, meet someone somewhere else and get their number. it's was harder to hide those relationships with only calling, texting, and email as options. If your partner was frequently gone before it was a red flag.

Now they can do all of their communication online right on their phone, and make excuses to cheat in person by "working late".

Now there are accounts with messaging that is private. You can hide all of your bad activity.

Now you can also easily add people you hardly know to social media, where you post your thoughts and feelings and put your whole life on display.
Or to a site where you constantly put up photos of your life for strangers to see. Attention seeking men and women can easily seek out others online from all over to boost their egos on this photo app. People with low morals can frequently bombard taken people with messages.
On facebook, over time people can get a false feeling of "knowing someone". And it's very easy for men and women with no morals to cross that line and cheat online, and take it to real life.
Decent people don't do these things, but temptation for those without morals or weaker humans is much bigger.
Not only is social media destroying our interactions and creating false ideas of "friendship " but it's also making it much easier to meet strangers who want to flirt and people who try to get to know you based on your online persona.
I wish I'd been born during different times honestly.

Paying we are paying for sex, if you have money you can pay as much as you can

The reason why infidelity is on the rise is because of how the dating market is structured.

Women want more resources for less sex and men wants more sex for less or no resources. It's hard to reach an equilibrium hence, the market will remain a stalemate making a man adopts scarcity mentality.

What that leads to is infidelity and promiscuity whereby, a man gets into any pusßy available because it's difficult to always come by one for less resources, so when he is easily presented with one. He go knack.
