Unwritten rule in Lagos

Always put your valuables in the trunk of your car.

May God give him the grace to love the thief even more, despite all odds
And the moment I give stranger lift immediately move my phone to my pocket.

Valuables in the trunk is a written rule. Because any traffic jam is an opportunity for smash and grab

Tinubu should do what? Please they should allow the man to rest jare, it's his brain that's needed not his address.

If he didn't address attend debates and addressed them during campaign, why will he do it now. Pooja should go and rest.

🤨😏
Word!

Before February, debates were useless.

Addressing the country is even more useless now.

They should have fixed electricity nationally and then improved transport network in the major cities first. Then when the fuel burden on the average citizen is lower you remove subsidy.

There are 2 problems with that. 1) I don’t know just how broke the country is. 2) Those measures would probably take 2-3 years which might make it too close to the next election cycle with potential for electoral backlash.

Those measures should have been in place before removing the subsidy IMO though. With the way Nigerians depend on fuel to do pretty much everything I am actually impressed with their resilience in these times.
These 2 cannot happen while we are accumulating debts to finance subsidy

I understand you.

But at what point can we fix electricity nationally and even the transport network? Buhari used 8 years, and he couldn't.
I didnt see your question before asking mine

When can electricity and transport be fixed realistically? Is that not what all govt since I was born claimed they were doing? And with accumulating debt he go fix all these things?
abi which money he go use fix this

We are using debt to finance subsidy, then we will use more debts to finance electricity and transport, then use more debts to fix refinery wey no fit fix, by then the regime will be over and he will pass the subsidy scam to the next president only that the debts would have tripled

Buhari wey no remove subsidy for 8yrs no stupid like that now.
What was the option? You know we were accumulating debt to pay subsidy even in Buhari times right

So which money we wan use build infrastructures to cushion the effect

It's funny you'd now mention the bolded when there was a candidate that literally ran on cutting down the cost of governance in the last presidential elections. Tinubu has never shown himself to be someone interested in cutting down the cost of governance, it's probably why Raumdeuter is always quick to say politicians making adjustments to their lifestyle will do little to help the country. Tinubu is the let's find a way to make the pie bigger so I and my goons get a larger share type of guy, the public should get a larger share in the process, but he's not in any shape or form interested in shrinking his share of the pie.

Removing the subsidy was objectively the right decision, and removing it two months ago or removing it by the end of this July in my opinion would have made little difference....maybe a phased removal like Peter Obi suggested might have made some difference, but then again we might never know.
You are very correct in this submission

As at May when Buhari regime ended, we are using debt to finance subsidy, Now can anyone tell me how we g from there?

70bn cost of governance is a distraction and just redmeat to make the people angry, It is part of what we signed up for when we decided to run this system of govt. There are cheaper options like military and monarchy. Presidential system of govt is expensive

The people who passed that 70bn bill are the same legislators we voted for. They were not appointed by Tinubu and they are all not APC, they are a representative of everyone in Nigeria

No matter who became president, that 70bn must be paid to them, whether na Ghandi, Mandela or Jerry Rawlings

If BAT has any sense at all or even his advicers near him, take that #800bn and fix up one refinery ffs..

TF are people suppose to do with #8k like this?..The worst part of all these things, crime will soar like mad this coming days..If na the least table knife, try go purchase dey comot with am..
Lol like say na today dem dey run this scam, every govt since ABacha have taken a huge amount to fix the refinery and it never worked

If they follow that advice in bold, that 800bn will be in someones bank account before the end of September or even someones soakaway in Ikoyi or Asokoro

Buhari has borrowed money for subsidy for more than a year, Tinubu could've also borrowed for the next 6 month of the year to properly access the economy as a whole before making that decision to remove subsidy totally.

Before the end of the 6 month, we will have a Cbn Governor, Minister of finance, minister of budget and planning, minister of petroleum also. All these people and ministries would've worked together to come up with a better plan on how to go about all this important decisions.

Obi that is very good at cutting cost of governance, na why Anambra State House of Assembly impeach him that year nah. He refuse to let them share crazy allowance when he was Governor, APC is just scam from top to bottom...
Looked like generating revenue was our problem not knowing we have wasteful and criminal politicians everywhere…. Nigerians don miss opportunity on having Obi… make he go do another thing.

Hopefully things will get better if the right ministers are appointed.

I believe Tinubu has assessed the economy enough while in transition. He took this decision with his full chest and will own the outcome of it

It is a tough decision because fuel prices will always follow international oil prices and exchange rates but all those we are assessing will make the debt continue to balloon

Now I heard the allocation to State govts have increased significantly, that is the closest to the people hold their shirts
