In what appears to be a gaffe, Ademola Adeleke, governor of Osun, has appointed Kolapo Alimi, as the “minister” of information and public enlightenment in the state.

On Wednesday, Adeleke sworn in 25 new commissioners at an oath-taking ceremony in Osogbo, the Osun state capital.

At the event, the Osun governor stood on the podium to call the names of the commissioners and their portfolios.

While he called Kolapo Alimi, Adeleke announced his portfolio as “minister of information and public enlightenment”.

Alimi was appointed commissioner for information and public enlightenment.

In the Nigerian political system, commissioners are at the state level, while ministers are appointed at the federal level.

The governor asked the new cabinet members to join him in building the state to achieve the high expectations the people have of him.

Adeleke said there won’t be room for “solo actors” as he is a team player, adding that he will not condone corruption from any of the cabinet members.

In June 2022, Alimi, an ally of Rauf Aregbesola, a former governor of the state, defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to support the governorship campaign of Adeleke.

He served as the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs under Aregbesola.

Meanwhile, Mr Kolapo Alimi should claim the prophecy and start working towards it.
Some months ago, when large members of national assembly members visited Tinubu in London, on their way going, one of them said " see you soon your excellency " Jagaban quickly claimed it before he now declared himself " Emi Lokan ".

He worked for this man against his own party and the state.

It is what it is, hoping it won't get worse.

All this politicians are thieves..there won't do any reasonable thing till they leave office just stupid news about them making appointments and all that you will rarely hear them commissioning projects like Schools, Road e.t.c
And the most painful part is we still have some nigerians that will defend the wrong doings of this politicians with thier life. Mehn this politicians are driven this country to a point of no return, Corruption is the engine oil that keeps this country moving although in Retarding manner..
I think we are too linient with these politicians, when they are found culpable and guilty of any misappropriation of funds all their limbs should just be cut off that would serve as a deterrent to others..How would you Loot a whole Country and you will go Scot free, These people should be dealt with.
