There are incident were spotters can't hold the weight. It can get ones skull, neck, spine broken

your spotter should be able to life the weight.

On a different note, it feels good when the biggest guy in the gym asks you to spot him😅 you automatically feel worthy of everything!

I'm sure this was caused by the suicide grip
It's the only case whereby the weight can slip
And there's not much the spotter can do to catch 400lbs

You are very correct, I always tell guys at the gym to never do that grip but ignorance and stubbornness coupled with high ego deafens their ear.
I can bench about 150kg, squat over 210kg and deadlift about 230kg and that is cause I train as a powerlifter, still I never do any lift with the suicide grip and not even with an empty bar. Many guys in the gym are too egotistical and ignorant.
