Another absentee president just signing this and that, yet can't even come out to address those that are directly affected by those documents he's signing. "It's not your business", his supporters would probably say, echoing the same stance from the Buhari regime, which by the way, set the new standard for absentee presidents. To these supporters, citizens don't deserve to hear from their leader, nope! Afterall who are we, compared to the 'mighty' Jagaban right? right? Why these guys want Nigerians to suffer and wail, is what I just don't understand, with the way they support everything and everyone with ill intent towards the citizens and the nation. |

Someone that cannot remember the name of his primary and secondary school, how do you expect him to address a nation like Nigeria. |

All three main candidates said the same thing...subsidy will be removed when I am in power. Even Obidents that are now saying that Obi meant that he would only remove 50% of subsidy, at the end, Nigerians would have said fuel prices are high. Anyway, Tinubu...who I did not vote for, or choose, nor do I like...is removing subsidy because at the end, we are spending most of our revenue on debt serivicing...meaning that money for subsidy is coming from loans . At some point, our creditors are not going to keep on dashing us money all the time. So, subsidy had to go. Another issue is that we are in essence using money that would have gone to build new refineries, on subsidy. Subsidy also has been inhibiting the ability of the refineries to grow and develop ...because there is no appreciableprofit to do so. It is like one baking bread at N1000 a loaf, and selling it at N1500 a loaf to make a profit of N500. Government then comes in and tells him to sell at N200, PAYS a subsidy of N900, meaning he makes a profit of N100, losing N400. Then cost of wheat goes up because Ukraine, cost of maintaining machinery goes up, cost of upgrades, reparis etc...and then state increases taxes...and then that subsidy of N900 is not enough. If we kept the subsidy...we would have run out of money....IMF would have refused to give us money, refineries won't be working...and at the end ,we would suffer so badly...that it would reach a point where there would be no cash at all in the ATM , no money for salary, no hard currency, and nothing on the shelves...and we would still be pouring money down the subsidy hole. We are between a rock and a hard place...and it is effing messed up. Even if Sowore takes over, or we have a revolution and we have money to pay for subsidy by forcing it from the rich, what happens when the money runs out? Unless someone can find us an extra 240 trillion naira per annum. |

yarimo:I disagree with the guy, but your mocking him does not make things better. If you guys had kept quiet in 2012, at Ojota, by now we would have been long since over the worst of the subsidy removal...and had domestic refining and money flowing in to boot. |

Why does he have to, was he the one who hired the price? Petrol, like every other products are determined by market price now. Do you see president's address the hike in a bottle of Coke? Mumu. |

The President has no business addressing you when prices go high or go low. He has already addressed everyone that subsidy has been removed. It is a free market. |
