Born and raised in Akwa Ibom State, I am Second Lieutenant Michael E. Jombo. My educational journey began at the Army Children School, where I took my first steps toward a career in the military. Afterward, I attended the Nigeria Military School in Zaria, where I got enlisted as a soldier in 2007. Though initially uncertain about my path, I embraced my calling and was posted back to the 4 Brigade Garrison. My commitment to the military has been unwavering, and in 2018 and 2019, I pursued further education while continuing my service as a soldier. Now, having completed my short service, I graduated in 2023, proud to keep pushing forward.

As a lieutenant in the Nigerian Army, my journey has been guided by a lifelong passion for serving my nation. From a young age, I dreamed of making a meaningful impact through the military. This dream led me to acquire a broad range of skills, such as basic security fire inspection, judgment and emotional control, safety management, and reporting skills, all of which are vital in the armed forces.

The training process has been an arduous and challenging one. Enduring countless trials and witnessing the extraordinary, I have been humbled by the experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today. Each day of training taught me valuable lessons, shaping my character and instilling a sense of dedication that is integral to military life.

As a lieutenant, I have faced numerous challenges in my duties across different locations in my country. From confronting dangerous terrorists to the heart-wrenching loss of fellow soldiers, adversity has been a constant companion. Yet, through it all, I draw strength from my faith and the unwavering support of my comrades, giving glory to God for guiding me through the darkest times.

A moment that stands out in my military experience is the opportunity to learn from the Nigeria Army. Through intensive security training, I have gained invaluable insights and honed my skills, preparing me to face any situation with confidence and competence.

Looking toward the future, my aspiration is to continue serving my great nation with dedication and honor. As I progress in my career, I am particularly eager to explore the Marine Corps and broaden my horizons. Marines are renowned for their expertise in conducting land-based and amphibious operations, and I am excited to learn from the best and contribute to the defense and security of our world.

In conclusion, my journey as a lieutenant in the Nigerian Army has been nothing short of remarkable. From humble beginnings to facing daunting challenges, I remain steadfast in my commitment to serving my country and making a difference. My experiences have shaped me, and I am ever ready to embrace the future with courage and determination.

Exboy, you don't get commissioned to be a soldier(other ranks, corporal below, NCO). You get enlisted(after NMS) or recruited(through depot NA)

Only officers get commissioned from the Academy

BTW, what coy were you in NMS?

May God bless and keep you, brother.

Keep up with the dream, vision, and hard/smart work.

We appreciate your service to the nation.

Do not join the roguish gang of those who find joy in intimidating and abusing civilians because of their profession.

Didn't you read the part he said he wasn't sure if his career path?
That means after NMS, he got enlisted as an NCO. Form there, he furthered his education and God commissioned as an SSC. Most of my comrades then Opted out. Many didn't want to continue on that path. Na poor man pikin dey join army nowadays
