Another thing that really pissed them off was the barrage of real-time pictures coming in from the west, as against the new districts springing up in the east. It really hurt them, and the backlash was huge. They started twisting all stats to favour themselves even in the face of abject poverty.

No, don't twist history Sir. Its all on record. Who started calling others Osu here? Isn't it cultural? And even on the civil war stories, we were only reaffirming what was written before by Alabi Isima, Alex Madiebo, Frederick Forsyth and others, while you chose to deny those written history with mere words. Remember how Chinua Achebe novel hit so hard that you guys disputed it for years, and yet Achebe was writing what he personally witnessed, others who couldn't write their personal experiences were on nairaland disputing what Achebe, a veteran saw in the war.

I agree that the commenters then were more intelligent and matured on both sides, but more insult started taking over after Achebe reaffirmed what many others wrote.
