So I can’t really pass judgment on what I’ve not scrutinised. That’s why I’m waiting for the portfolios, so I will be able to better research those names.

He should have attached their portfolios though, because I don’t understand how the senate will screen people without knowing the job they will be performing.

Dr Joe Abah was explaining yesterday that only the minister of justice and AGF must be a lawyer (Section 152 of the constitution), every other minister can be appointed to any ministry irrespective of their background.

All the Senate will do is screen them based on their competency to be a federal minister (How they do that, I dont know).

The constitution should be amended again though to mandate the President to send portfolio with the names of his nominees.

But the Calibre of people he will appoint to certain ministries will tell us the directions of his administration.

There has been no major reaction from the market since the list was out, investors are probably waiting on who will held what.

Unfortunately the issues that make dangote appoint indians often come to the fore.integrity issues and an inability to deliver without close marking. So them neva die, but dem neva grow either. I am talking as a person who employs Nigerians and who is frequently frustrated by Nigerian artisans /technicians/ workers.
