no first time
I thought it was only those who qualified for renewal that were made to wait for dates to submit.
I’m not sure if it still works this way but when I used the emergency route two years ago I chose the available date(it was a 2024 date I saw then) I could see as of that day then I applied for emergency before getting approved. You can’t apply for emergency if you don’t chose a date doesn’t have to be a close date.

Hello Mamas,

Looking to connect with 2 expecting mamas who are considering Barbados as an alternative destination for childbirth between October & November 2023 that have their UK visas already. I am exploring a collaborative Do-It-Yourself strategy between us as the Instagram Naija vendor agents offering these services are priced very high upward of $15k without flight tickets, compared to the prices I have investigated myself which can be way less than $10k.

I have established contact with a hospital over there, found reasonable priced short let apartments that can be shared but I am still looking to establish links with immigration over there for hassle free entry which is the last hurdle. I am not asking for anything from you, please note you would be making your payments directly yourself to the hospital and other points, I am just seeking companions on the missionary journey as to avoid the exploitation of our dear agencies here in naija ready to shave our heads on our quest for second passports for our kids.

Interested? email me at naijabajanmum-2023@yahoo.com so we can talk. Please only 2-3 serious mums needed.

Thank you!

My point is i dont have access to choosing a date. So i cant even make choice to select emergency. Thats my concern. And tbe program is in late august.

Hi Everyone, Please I’m looking to book a flight to Orlando Florida and I need an airline that doesn’t require transit visa, with the shortest flight time and the least amount of stopovers. I don’t know if anyone can be of help. Cost is not really a problem.
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by JohnZak: 12:16pm On Jul 26, 2023
Direct flight from Lagos to Atlanta. Go through immigration at Atlanta and then take a domestic flight from Atlanta to Orlando. The Atlanta to Orlando flight is a short one, <1.5 hours. Allow 2.5-3.0 hours between arrival in Atlanta and departure to Orlando for going through immigration, picking up your bags at international baggage claim, checking your bags, and going through TSA at the domestic terminal of the Atlanta airport.

For estimated cost you can drop your travel itinerary.

Transit visa?
If you want minimum flight time with no stopover, then there isn’t a case for a transit visa.
Just buy any airline ticket as long as you have a US visa and fly.

Please any recommendation for schools offering computer science for masters? and have a structured way of paying their tuition fee probably during an internship.

I want to switch course to computer science, already found a school (Maharishi international university) but will like to know if there are other schools that offers the same package like Maharishi university do.

thank you for your response

Fair enough, it's usually about that to Houston and SFO too. If you want a shorter one you should call them after booking the ticket to put you on the earlier leg. I do this too sometimes, the best part about Delta is that you hardly pay for any changes but you pay for some.

Yesterday, I had my interview at 10.45am, which took place at window three. I'm pleased to share that my application was approved. Interestingly, mine was the first approval of the day, as I witnessed the officer deny more than 49 individuals, some of whom had prior travel histories to the US.

During the interview, the officer asked me a series of questions, including the purpose of my trip to the US, details about my occupation, the budget I had allocated for the journey, and where I intended to stay during my time there. Additionally, they inquired about my activities in Canada during a specific month (XYZ Month) and my current earnings, among other things.

For context, I have traveled to 19 countries in the past and currently possess valid 10-year visas for both the UK and Canada. Despite witnessing many denials, I am relieved that my application was successful, and I am now looking forward to my trip to the US. good luck to everyone else.

Hi KeniOaks,

I renewed while I was a student a few years ago so some things may have changed. However, if you plan on renewing in Canada and you have a Nigerian passport (or a passport that requires a Canadian visa for travel), you must start by getting a Canadian visitor visa. This is an easy process. At the time I did it, I completed the form online, paid the Canadian visa fee, and submitted some documents including my bank statement, passport photos, purpose of my visit (i.e. renew my student visa), and a copy of the appointment letter from the US embassy. I was a student on the three occasions that I applied and had between $2500–$3500 in my account. They reviewed my documents and asked me to send my passport along with a return envelope to the Canadian VAC in NY. I believe the location of the VAC depends on your state. The Canadian visa lasts for the entire duration of your passport validity so you can always go to Canada again for a vacation if you want.
The website below has information on how to apply for a US visa in Canada. Make sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on apply

https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/niv

Select the consulate where you want to apply it. I was pressed for time whenever I applied so I just applied to the consulate with the earliest availability – twice in Ottawa, once in Toronto, and once in Halifax. Someone said that Halifax discontinued student visa application but confirm this when you apply. Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver definitely do though.

I found the visa process to be smooth and easy, unlike my experience in Nigeria. The Consular Officers are more polite, light-hearted, and willing to even joke with you and ask you about your course and career trajectory study. However, it is still an interview so be prepared. I went with my form I20, academic transcripts, bank statements, pay stubs for GA/RA, scholarship letters showing funding, enrollment verification letter obtained from my university, student ID, letter from my program director, and driver’s license. Despite all the documents that I went with, they only asked for my form I20 on all the occasions and the interviews were brief. In my opinion, most U.S. residents get their visas renewed, however be prepared. Typically, the rejections I observed were from non-Canadians in Canada who wanted to visit the US. Except things have changed, they will mail your passport to you at an address that you provide when you applied. You also have the option to ask DHL to hold your passport for pickup. I always used the latter option because it was more convenient for me. The entire process takes about 3–4 days whether in Canada or Mexico. I would fly in on Sunday evening, visit the embassy on Monday morning and would get an email from the Consulate on Tuesday afternoon that passport is ready for pickup. DHL would then tell me to come pick it up on Wednesday or Thursday. I would then fly back to the US on Thursday evening.

It also goes without saying that if you have ever been arrested or convicted, make sure to go with the final Court disposition. Some people say if you have ever had a ticket, go with proof that you paid it. I believe you can get these records at the Court.

I renewed once in Mexico. I did not require a visa to Mexico because folks on certain visas (F1, J1, H1, LI etc) could go to Mexico with an unexpired US visa. If you want to go the Mexico route, make sure you go before your visa expires, not after. The process is like Canada. I had my interview at US consulate in Tijuana. I was in San Diego at the time so it was convenient for me.
The website below has information on how to apply for a US visa in Mexico. Make sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on apply

Although the chances of a renewal are high and the Consular Officers appear nice (definitely way nicer than in Nigeria), this is still an interview so be prepared. If your visa is unfortunately not approved, you can’t’ come back to the US. Finally, I would suggest Canada as an option because of language and safety concerns in Mexico.
Hope this information helps and good luck. Sorry for the long-winded response!

Hi Everyone. Please i would appreciate your honest feedback on this. I recently just got a student visa to the UK but I intend to visit my mum in the US Easter of next year during the Easter break. What are my chances of getting a visit visa from London to the US what documents do I need to show. The uk would be my first travel outside Nigeria I was told to build my travel history maybe travel to Paris to increase my chances of getting a visit visa to the US. How true is this?

Thank you

The process is fairly different now.
You’ll be emailed the approval to choose a date for drop off after you have completed the application for appointment on the cgi portal.

We are no longer in control of how we submit again.
When you get the approval you’ll see the dates available and choose one that suits you best for the submission.
