Is there any scientific reason why I have diarrhoea ("purging" each time I eat Nkwobi, Isi ewu or Abacha?

Is it the potash or pepper?

Your body is like a car and you are the driver, you know how it works, the best advice you need here is to stop eating anything your body rejects, if a type of fuel or oil doesn't work well with your car, you will stop using that type and use the one that works, simply using the one that works with your car is cheaper and safer than trying to waste money to make what doesn't work to work,

Cos your body do not accept potash used to prepare them. Go to a place that uses Ash instead of potash.

Could be because of the potash,my system doesn't tolerate potash also.

It's a special kind of ash called ngu . It's a better option mostly used in homes and preferred by grandmas

This is because it's a better and healthier option.

But people that prepare food in commercial quantity prefer potash because it thickens faster with less quantity.

Every stomach is different so you need to figure your stomach out. Find out what it is you react to by varying the content of your recipe. Another way is to work on building your stomach through the use of probiotics .e.g. Yogurt. By imbibing them you sort of fortify your stomach.

Hmm, I don't know about that. Depending on what food you are preparing, u don't necessarily need potash. Some people use it to make their meat tender and cook faster.

In northern Nigeria, this is where I will say they consume potash excessively. I don't really know what they use it for but it's everywhere in maiduguri markets

It's the ngor that is making you purge because it's made with potash (akawun).

What is making you purge is the LEAVES used to garnish it....

I think it is uziza leave

When I started eating too I have same issue.....
When I make at home without it I don't,purge
