If you use the new ircc portal, it's about 6 weeks (30 business days). If you use the gckey it's about more than 700days average processing time, the last time I checked. It may not be upto that.

PS: it depends entirely on IRCC. The processing time on their site are average timelines.

The only option you have is to travel to Abuja for submission through courier service and make sure you wait till your passport is stamp and go in-person for collection.

Hello great minds. I need an advise couple with explaination. I want to start visitor's visa application process due to the fact that a retired colleague did it &was given till Dec 2025 when his PP will expire. He now encourage me to put in while in service that I will be given 2&my PP will expire in July 2026 after which I will write to voluntary discharge then JAPA. I got approval for a visitor visa and I decided to use the delivery option of VFS instead of self-pick up, I should have done self-pick up but I don f**k up already. I have paid since June 2, 2023, but my passport never land to date. The attached image was the last message we got from VFS. Any idea how long I am gonna stay before delivery of passport.

Most time IRCC application won't update the progress of your application but the tracker does, when my VV was approved in June this year my tracker showed my eligibility as been completed and visa number on my tracker but my application on new portal didn't update until my passport was stamped with visa.

Is your tracker shows visa number?

Biometrics completed at VFS Lagos - June 21, 2023
Biometrics validity letter - June 15, 2023
PPR - June 15, 2023
Passport submission at VFS Lagos - June 20, 2023
Passport delivered by UPS courier to a Lagos address - July 30, 2023


Background- I have valid US and UK visas. Also several expired Schengen visas. So I am a frequent traveler and most trips are for tourism.

Applied as a tourist with hotel reservation. No family or friend in Canada was mentioned in my application
Submitted all the regular documents - nothing extra
