To be fare to these guys, their salaries aren’t enough to take care of the demand and needs of their constituents. You need to see how people queue up in front of their gates whenever they go back to their constituency with various forms of monetary demands. Mind you the more hardship the members of their constituency face, the more demand they will be exposed to. These guys make more money based on the committees they head or belong to. Anyways that doesn’t mean their salaries should be increased though because that will be immoral.

If they've done the necessary things then nobody will ever bother to go get peanuts from them.

Lawmakers are not contractors. They should account for the 23m monthly allowance they have been receiving which they use meagre amount in building kpako bridge and mobile toilets and divert the rest to buy houses in Chicago and Toronto.

23m a month is not enough? What do they give to their constituents that you have seen?Their duty is making laws that can bring good governance to everyone not sharing money to ghost.

If only their salaries would be increased they would go about discharging their duties very well. I hope they increase it sooner than later so that Agbodorians will be paid well.

'To be 'fare'....smacks of a rush to talk without deep thought and it shows in the preceding lines that do not query the very reason people queue up to receive stipends in the first place. Not as if his office or gatehouse is Disneyland.

The fact is that as a part of government if they did their jobs properly this social humiliation will not arise in the first place.
So Mister, I simply cannot see what is 'fare' here.

This Senate President is simply uncouth, lacks reasoning and is becoming an agent provocateur. His colleagues had better call him to order before he sets a light to the gasoline filled country sitting on a keg of gunpowder.

Nigerians like to complain/protest through the wrong channels. They will never complain/protest with their votes. Next election, they will still vote same sets of career polithiefians into power. We must all suffer this shege we brought upon ourselves.

Really

Nigerian senator salary calculator: How do you compare?

Many Nigerians were shocked after recent revelations from a prominent politician, Shehu Sani, that Nigerian senators are entitled to monthly expenses of 13.5m naira (£27,000; $37,500), in addition to their monthly salaries of more than $2,000.
A Senate spokesperson confirmed the figure, but said the funds were for senators to run their offices and should not be counted as part of their salaries.
Taking the salary and expenses together, how does your income compare to that of a Nigerian senator? Use our interactive calculator to find out. (App users click on the image)

Why are the needs of their constituents so high, if not that the looters we hail as leaders fail to employ workers to do everything that governments (local/state/federal) do? Things like water supply to every building

Are the lootocrats employing and paying workers well enough, compared to the politicians?
