Reciting d national anthem alone is enough of screening and pledging patriotism to Nigeria. If u study d words carefully... It's unfair to be corrupt in this country.

Can you recite the first stanza of our National Anthem offhand without missing the wordings, not to talk of the second stanza?

It is always easy to critize when you are not facing the same situation.
Number one: yes I can. Infact due to the nature of most meetings I attend, opening prayers is either the first or second stanza

Number two: I am not vying for any political position.
Let me ask you, if you are to go for an interview, won't you at least know the mission and vision of the company?.

Good one from Akpabio and Opeyemi Bamidele for shutting down the idiotic and irrelevant question asked by the PDP Senator.

Nigerians want them to ask the nominees critical questions bothering on their capacity to serve and the ideas they are bringing to the Federal executive council and not to be singing an anthem that will be played publicly anytime there is a need for it.
And to you, it is not of critical importance that a man who intends to become a minister in the federal republic of Nigeria should recite the national anthem?

No wonder we are where we are today, with your likes as followers of corrupt leaders. Some of you sound like you survive from proceeds of corruption, and imagine decent people to be the same.

When you support corrupt politicians to be your leaders, you think there is a chance for you to make your living. They make the money and give you pittances to survive. In the end, you all are loosers, as corruption is not the way up to develop great countries.

Every public official, or those intending to be so, must know the national anthem. That's one of the signs of patriotic citizens. If you cannot recite it, you should have no business holding public office
Re: Dele Alake Asked To Recite The National Anthem By Senator Simon Mwadkwon by Greattha:
Check well you'll find that most of the imps supporting Alake can't recite the anthem either.

No iota of patriotism in them but they're always quick and first to shout.

What's wrong in asking him to recite the national anthem in the hallowed Chambers?

It should even be seen as a walk in the park but no.

Hopeless Senate.

The current senate will make the rubber-stamp Lawal-led senate seem like the US senate, just as the BAT-led FG makes Buhari's administration seem like Obama's.

What a bunch of useless humans.

Shame on Akpabio and the his colleague Legislooters.
You are being too generous by calling them humans. Humans have feelings. Not this set of idiotic and corrupt demons.

Mr know it all! How do you expect them to ask the nominees critical questions when Tinubu submitted names without portfolios. To what extent do you want them to keep on circulating same questions

They know what they're doing...or at least they think they do.

Its their senseless supporters here and everywhere that's baffling.

Dele Alake, Minister of Communications.
Re: Dele Alake Asked To Recite The National Anthem By Senator Simon Mwadkwon by Reference(m): 10:17pm On Aug 02, 2023
For all those asking why he should recite the National Anthem instead of so called 'relevant' and 'important' questions...
So tell us what those important questions were and what the nominee's answers were.... to further the nation, his future responsibilities.... whatever they are.... since he was spared the time singing to the pleasure of the Senate.

Because to me it appears the irrelevant question asked was a reflection of the irrelevant exercise the so called screening is.
If there is any Nigerian citizen.... any at all, that has been enlightened by this exercise, he should mention one thing gained.... just one.

The mediocrity in this country is truly shocking.
I really do not think we have the capacity to govern ourselves.
We did not get to this pathetic state by mistake.
